Who has the most mileage on a standard clutch?

All the threads I read about clutches giving up and slipping etc when a tdi has been remapped, made me wonder how long the clutches last with a standard engine. My 2006 fr has only done 16000 miles so that does not count but I would be interested to see what other people have done. Of course I realise that someone with no mechanical sympathy whatsoever can destroy a new clutch in few hours,but for us 'normal' folk....what year is your car and how many miles has it done on the same clutch?????

Mine is on 23,000 (55 plate FR+ TDI) and was remapped at about 4,000 miles.
Not had a single problem with clutch slip so either i'm very lucky, or i drive it better than most.

'05 54 plate Leon FR TDI 150 standard - 45k on origonal clutch.

Cupra TDI, every mod except new turbo, several trackdays, and 40k.
Remapped at 1500 miles. Clutch does slip, but I rarely get it as I drive in London traffic, and im lucky to get out of 2nd gear .

Just changed jobs, so I'll do a fair bit of motorway stuff, so new clutch is on its way soon.

My old 2003 Ibiza TDI 130 was sold on its original clutch at 86,000 miles.

If you don't floor it when the torque comes in, you won't wear the clutch. Also, switchable maps like Revo will help as you can turn the power on only when you need it.

60k on the standard clutch with a remap from 10k miles.

Used to get slip in higher gears in cold weather, but the map was quite agressive and torquey low down.

Running an uprated one now.

Some interesting stuff there guys. I especially like the 130,000 leon on original clutch one. Also interesting is the fact that so many people just remap a car as soon as they get it

Bought my Passat on 92k miles, had it remapped, now on 135k miles on original clutch.

Clutch slipped for a while when I first had it remapped, but got a revised map with the peak torque knocked back a bit, it's been fine since.

Standard Toledo and Ibiza both on about 100k with orignal clutches. I'm told the clutch is starting to slip on the Toledo but from what people have told me on the forum it's just the garage trying to get money out of me. Ibiza clutch is fine though... Ibiza has a performance air filter but that's all. Toledo is completly standard...

The older Luk clutches were supposedly better than the Sachs clutches. But my 90hp, 155 lb/ft TDI went 210k miles on a Sachs clutch -- I replaced it before remapping.

If you're starting with a PD130 or PD150, I have no idea how long the OE clutch will last.

52 plate Ibiza TDI Sport, 108k miles had a few instances of clutch slip at about 50k in the cold weather but that's it. Oh, most of those miles have been after it was remapped

Very happy with the remap mate. Car is so much stronger and faster, and better on fuel too. Win Win situation.
I can't speak for Revo as i have a custom code phase 1 on mine, but if your interested in C-C's remaps, you won't be dissapointed if you like a smooth power feed across the range.
