Does anybody have any knowledge of AmD Technik in Essex, they look quite good?

Am probably getting an APR Remap but want to keep my options open in the meantime.

For those with the Revo map, whats the difference between select and select plus?

On there website they quote increase to 300bhp and 310lbft torque for £499, I would say thats one of the best??

I doubt there is a great deal in it to be honest, rarely is. Just different rolling roads horses for courses.

For example see the two standard graphs below, pay attention to the shapes.

Standard run done at WRC, for the REVO donor car.

My standard run done a couple of weeks ago at Awesome GTI.

The negligible differences you'd notice between the maps 'on the road' would hardly show one up as being any better than the other.

Weighing up who you want to go with, who is closest to you, who is the best value for money, are really the only things that separate the products in my opinion. They all tend to do what they say on the tin.

I got my FR TSFI APR'd last week and I am so excited, what a huge difference, I cant believe its the same car, like chalk and cheese. It pulls in every gear and just wants to keep going and going..

Went to Sussex a few days later and cruising on the highway was amazing, the torque is just amazing. The car even has a bit of a 'growl' to it, which makes a nice change, before it sounded quite tame.

I know nothing about tuning but I am very happy with my choice and the whole process was easy and quick (about an hour in total).

GO APR !!!! but I got it done at Engine Advantages, give Paul a ring, top bloke.

I was the first mk2 Leon he has done and once he worked out where the port was, which took ages lol, it was all smooth sailing after that.

Do you find that the map gets rid of the FR TFSIs lack of top end grunt I find with the standard car even though it pulls nicely to the red line that after about 5k revs there are no real fireworks?? Maybe all the torque before hand de-emphasises the top end power??

It does want to pull a lot, in 6th gear even too. The power through the rev range is really good, top end as well.

I had some knob in an Astra behind me on the highway and on a long uphill section I just put my foot down and the engine just wanted to keep going, it felt so smooth. Needless to say he knew when he was outclassed, I didnt give him a chance to catch up :).
