How long is my car under warranty for?

I was greeted by a nice puddle in my passenger footwell on sunday morning after the terrential downpour overnight.. Will this be covered?

It's a 54' first reg 22nd sept. (i'm guessing it's a 3yr warranty?)

Cheers,

Andy!

Yeah 3 years from date of reg so runs out 21 Sept 07.

I would certainly take it in and get it looked at - as is common prob with these this leak happens to so many people. Not sure if it is definately covered though.

Cheers guys! looks like a good guide, will have a look after work!

I think it'll be the pollen filter as the wife said she felt it dripping on her left leg when i booted it.

I just emailed my local seat dealer to see if it is covered so i'll let ya all know.

It's probably the pollen filter. It was the earlier Leons that suffered from door seal issues IIRC. My old 02 LC was a bugger for it.

As for the warranty it is covered under the 3 year warranty but not if you have what SEAT call the extended warranty that that you get with secondhand cars that are over 3 years old.

equal to 3yrs from first registration?

If i was buying a new car i would want it from the delivery date not the first reg date.!

it think he is trying to say that if you buy a 2nd hand car from a stealers, they will give you an extended warranty , ie a year on it. This wont cover water leaks though...... and i had a 2002 lc which pissed in water in every footwell, never got around to fixing it as it all started about 3 months before i px'd it.

Touch wood, the lcr is dry as a bone atm even after the downpours we have just had! :)

I had this on my late 54 LCR. I had it back to the main dealer who sold it to me after the local one took three goes to try and fix it. It appears after vast amounts of time and money from the garages that it was a problem from the factory. The seal under the wind screen in the engine bay had not been welded correctly. The Pollen filter thing is in my opinion a cheap stab in the dark. I had all my door skins off e.t.c but to no avail The leak is fixed touch wood. But I had had the car a week when I noticed it ! I went spare. The car was fixed under man warranty. I believe once a fault is fixed under man warranty you have a futher 24 months comeback after that repair work was carried out. So ..... get down their quick.
