blocked cat?

couple of things really,

1. recently noticed ma car has started to smell a bit of egg..
2. boost guage used to read quite high (21psi holding about 17ish, 5th gear) but now only spikes about 16 holding about 14..
3. boost cuts out occasionally (when it gets some abuse on a motorway mainly) and puts car into limp mode (maybe if cat is restricting air flow).
4. Drinks Fuel.. lol

sounds like the cat to me but anyone else got any idea's what it could be? not had a chance to get it vag-com'd again yet..

Could be a coilpack. They let off a sulpher smell when they go bad, and also limit boost under load (ie 5th gear)

interesting that u say that cos i took ma engine cover off the other day and one of the coil packs looks rank.. best get vag-com'd i guess..
