Performance De-tuned

Another issue could be that they f****d something up when doing the service ? Killed the MAF etc ?

Try unplugging the MAF & take it for a spin

OK SLOW DOWN! What is the MAF and where do I find it......Not that clued-up!

Have a little search, it's by your airbox.

If you unplug it a light will come on your dash - just ignore this for now & take the car for a little spin. If the power comes back with the MAF out, then your MAF is dead.

Plug it back in for now & then get it replaced. If the perf is still the same while it is still unplugged, then at least you've eliminated one cause of the problem..

Would be interesting to see the dyno plot.
You might find that although the peak figures sound OK, the power/torque curves might be wrong.

Can you post it up ?

Also - does it smoke any more than usual ?

Ok had the car on a dyno this morning and he results are as follows:

Best out 4 runs 89.4kW/119BHP @ 2802 RPM and 360NM @ 2520 RPM

A friend of mine took his car along, his has not been serviced yet!

Best out 4 runs 105kW/140BHP @ 3915 RPM and 375 NM @ 2901 RPM

Big difference don't you think. Plus as you said there is quite a difference in the power/torque curve!!! :D

isnt 4000 pretty much the rev limit, so he got peak power at the rev limit? thats not right, and his torque figure looks like he got that too late as well, should be about 2k rpm. dodgy rollers?

I would like to disagree with the peak KW/BHP level. Accourding to the brochure our cars should produce 118kW/160BHP at 3750rpm, and due to the multiplication factor of the gearbox the torque setting should be fine, except if you can give me an example of what a dyno for the 160BHP Cupra looks like there by you.
