I thought i would loosen and raise the back. Passenger side rear was abit stiff but ok. 3 turns of -dampening and 3 complet turns up with the c spanner.

The other side however....

its not a sensor, its just like a switch... it wont effect the car at all, apart from before your alarm would have gone off if someone tried to open your bonnet... now it wont. thats all... you may aswell bolt it back on for the sake of 30 seconds

EDIT: and if your platforms are rusted you may have to cut them off (last resort) but they are readily available to buy ;)

Sorry dude, it was on the car when I bought it.

Any answers on that sensor? I get the feeling it's immobiliser related..

That sensor is for your alarm to let it know ithe bonnet is closed.... if your alarm is armed and someone opens you bonnet the alarm will sounds.... simple :)

When you fit a strut brace that sesnor is in the way so usually you screw it between the strut of the car and the brace.

Thanks for the help guys. I would reconnect it if the clip wasnt cracked in half.

I gave up turning it. Ill live with it at that ride height. Until i find a c spanner that is 4 foot long.

The kit you posted a link to is for removing screws when you've rounded out the top and a screwdriver won't bite.

You need one of THESE - drill a hole in the centre of the bolt, then insert the correct size extractor. LH thread so, once it bites, it removes the sheared bolt.
