Hate to bring up an old post but this is certainly something I need in my car (I had water marks on the old car where I forgot to shut the windows and ran off).

Just to check I have a non-flip key (i.e. Standard key) will this work with my vehicle? And a final question can this only be used on one car? Or do any northern members have one I Can borrow in return for beer money?

Cheers

If you can open your windows by using the key (open or close and hold for a few seconds - windows roll up/down).

It will work...

It works on cars with confort module, or if you can control windows manually with key fob.

Ach damn was just out at the car there removing the rear badges and tested the windows and unfortunately it would appear my car does not have the appropriate module to close the windows.

Kinda disappointed with the lack of features in the car, I purchased the SE as I was advised it was some form of a Sport TDi edition however the car doesn't even have the switch to check MPG etc.

Thanks for the info MDS

Quick one for you guys..
I have had a few cars in the past (MK4 Golf, Audi A3) and found that if you leave your windows down when closing the doors, you have a far greater chance of causing damage to the window mechanism (namely the common regulator issue)..
I have had 2 windows go on both cars becuse windows were left down when closing the doors and its a pain in the a*&e!...If window is up, door feels more sturdy when closing and the window is secure..

May just be a matter of coincidence and poor VW/Audi/Seat clips/regulators!

Contrary to my previous post I was talking nonsense, my windows successfully went up and down using the key so I guess I am capable of upgrading to allow the windows to shut with the Remote :D

Guess I shall be purchasing one of these on pay day- thanks for helping find out if it would work again mate.

top man cheers! can u still lock the car & keep the windows oped if u want?

Don't think so.

But if you unlock the car with a double press and hold the button the windows will roll down, then after 30 seconds the car will lock itself again providing you've not opened a door!

I am planning on getting my car re-mapped in the next month or so - would getting the car re-mapped wipe this upgrade or vice versa?

from the FAQ on the SZKVW web site...
8. My VW/Skoda/Seat’s is chipped / modified, would this affect it?

If you have an Oettinger, GIAC, REVO or APR chip (or other) it will not affect your chip, erase the program or modify it in anyway. You are SAFE to use this and your car will be exactly the same as it was before. And if you were planning to get a Chip in the future this will not affect it either.

HTH :)
