Seat Dealer In Oxford

Hi everyone.

This is my first post to the forum and I'm looking for feedback about two dealers.

The first is Humphris in Oxford who hacked me off this morning when I waited with my son for twenty minutes and no one bothered to speak to me (I consider it the first test of the dealer to see how the deal with customers). I ended up ripping up the spec of the Cupra I wanted and left it on the bonnet of the Cupra in the showroom.

The Skoda dealer (I know but I wanted to test drive a VRS) was good and so was the Volkswagen dealer (Golf GTI).

Anyway does anyone have experience of the Seat dealership in Newbury as I intend to give them a visit tomorrow.

I almost bought my Leon FR from them, but they would not budge much on the price. I ended up buying mine form Swindon Motor Park, very good customer service so far.

Went to the Newbury dealer today and had a test drive in the Cupra. Not overly impressed with the guy I spoke to but I'm not too sure if he took me seriously as I had my lad with me.

Have to say I found the Cupra itself to be rather dark and oppressive but great fun to drive (hate the A piller view).

I guess I should not say this in here but I'm leaning towards either a Golf GTI or the Audi A3 Sportback.

Buy the FR and get it remapped. I got my FR TFSI remapped today and and it feels like a totally new car, I cant believe how much more power/pull it has, all I can say is WOW !!!.

PLus the FR is lighter inside. The A pillar view does suck but I got used to it. I wasnt too happy with the dealers I dealt with but maybe my expectations are too high, who knows.

And when I sat inside it did seem better.

I think I've just about decided if I do go for the Seat it will be the FR and not the Cupra.

The lining in my FR is like a light beige/off-white kind of colour.

I think the Cupra is great but like you found it too dark inside. I also couldnt justify the extra cost and greater insurance group but saying that I have spent a bit on the skirts, mirrors and remap. I have no regrets at all

I am sure you will love the FR, keep us updated on your final decision.

Now if they can only manage the twelve week delivery I was given perhaps I'll go for it

took them 12 weeks and 1 day to get mine to me. and its well worth the wait.

by the time your order is confirmed by seat UK the factory will be open again so it shouldnt take any longer (in theory).

the sunroof is good too. well worth £310 (may have gone up a bit now). the demonstrator i took out didnt have a sunroof and i agree the interior was a little oppressive, but i always intended to get one.

Ours took around 12 weeks as well so it is pretty much the norm. I myself prefer the dark interior principally for the privacy factor. When i am driving from dusk onwards people cannot make out who is inside.
