Had my LCR remapped sat ,Just fitted a full turbo back blueflame exhaust and had her mapped from (apr) stage 1 to stage 2, it was a much hotter day but only produced same brake and 14 lb/ft increase, (250 bhp and 301lb/ft) does this sound about right?? Was a tad pissed too be honest. If not any idea`s as too what could be going on?

APR, so i take it was done at awesome GTI and run on their dynojet rollers?

Probably the reason as to why you'll be dissapointed with the bhp figure. Do a bit of searching and you'll find out.

What were your @ wheel figures?

Better not get into that 1 again mate, been done many times before.

@ wheels yes, @ flywheel no.

try not to take your BHP as gospel mate, its for pub talk only, so dont get too disheartened fella :)

its how it drives and feels at the end of the day

however, I have heard from other users of apr, that apr can be a bit conservative with their maps, but the LCR boys are the best to comment

APR stage 2 will be 280bhp mate, ie 240-245whp.

The thing is, dynojet probably did give you that 240-245whp. Its just there way of calculating losses that people dont agree with. (well i dont)

1 of my own results at awesome 247whp, 257bhp. Working that out it works out a 4% loss! However previous knowledge and hundreds of google searches tells me, FWD transmission losses are in the region of 15-17%.

Apply 15% onto wheel figures and you should have a fairly good indication of bhp figure :)

I will say no more on the subject as it normally gets into a slanging match. My advice is, do your own research and work out your OWN conclusions.

However saying that, i do not even know if its awesome's dynojet in question here. May not be, so apologies beforehand. Im just assuming due to the APR link.

Nick.... I've sent you a PM mate with some more info i have found out recently.

Right peeps i dont want to this to spiral off into another rant about rolling road figures, it has been done before, with information from many different places and sources. At the end of the day we cant please everyone all of the time.

As for our flywheel figures being grosely inaccurate, i will only reference the fact that we have had a car on the rollers, which has had its engine bench dyno'd, and was within 3 BHP of the bench figures when run on our rollers. Need we say more??

We have had hundreds of cars on our rollers, there are only a hand full who question them, pretty much everyone else is more than happy with the results they get and never question them as they are the same if not better than they expected or wanted.

powelly, did you say anything at the time at all, for why no increase?

although I would not expect a massive increase "just" from fitting the exhaust - maybe 10bhp gain?

he also had stage two added.

do you have the graph at all? it would be interesting to see if the car held back at the top end which is very possible when mapped on a hot day.
what sort of settings are you running?

You cant really compare i know it should be a noticable diff, but diff day, diff humidity, diff heat, bla, bla.
Too many variables to run a propper test, try it on diff rollers a diff day?

(sorry bout all the diffs)

lol, the old dyno lottery playing its part here, and peoples perceptions of what the bhp should be, and leading to disappointment, for what is merely figures used as pub talk, but sometimes taken to literally

I have apr st 2 on my LCR, and have had a dyno run. I will dig out and scan in the graph, Not huge figures but its sooooo smooth....was something like 257BHP and 265lbs. This was in feb, and was done with a centre fan, as the LCR has side mounts i dont know how accurate this actually is. This wasnt long after i had the map loaded, i had not done a battery re-set or nothing, map drive for a couple of days then on the rollers.
