doesnt feel right

me cars has been running sweet until a week ago, i took it out for a drive last sunday and gave it some beans and could smell a really eggy smell and the car just didnt feel right. Its been popping and banging from the exhaust loads too which i've never really had before. I VAGCOM'd it and no errors at all, but it just doesnt feel right, the top end isnt what it used to be which suggests the maf is on its way out again. Any other ideas or what to look for on vagcom?

Im actually being serious. I think its your catalytic converter. They usually smell of egg when they break. Get a proper race one of a de cat and see if that solves it.

got a spare CAT in the garage so will give it a swap, cheers

Was gonna say the eggy smell is normally associated with the CAT. If it is breaking down then it will start to clog up and restrict airflow through the cat. If you get chance, try and get it jacked up, and if you bang the cat with your fist you may get a rattle from inside it (when its cold of course! Dont go burning yourself! ) - if it does rattle then i'd say it was gone.
