For those of you who are actively trying to communicate with Seat UK - I'd forget using emails and phonecalls.

You need to be doing everything in writing and sending it with a proof of delivery, otherwise the other party can easily deny receiving emails, phonecalls etc.

***Latest news flash***

:wtf:Thanks to everyone who has added to this thread. There seems to be a few disgruntled consumers out there!!

Anyway, I have sent a high priority email to Seat Uk fao ***********, who is the head of customer services (T: 0500 222222). I have also sent a hard copy recorded delivery as a few have said that they can easily ignore an email.

They have received the email but as of yet no official response so as soon as I get one it will be posted here!! So keep checking back for further info!

In the mean time if anyone else out there is needing help get in touch.

I hope they are reading this muddyboots!!

At then end of the day Seat Uk are letting many people down and I believe in my instance anyway that my car is unsafe not only to my family but to other road users. I have never ever in all my driving years and numerous new cars had such a "lemon".

Do they really think that they can wash their hands of every incident that has been mentioned in the forum?

All I want, if you are reading this Seat Uk, is a car that I feel my family is safe in and I don't believe we are there yet.

Thanks for getting in touch goble. At present (only got the car back yesterday after a week in the garage) the only fault is the climate control stops blowing cold air on the motorway drive. It works fine around town but when you sit at cruising speeds after about 30 mins it stops blowing air and just makes a noise. This is an ongoing problem which was first put down to the fans not opening/moving and then to the wrong compressor on the car - diesel model fitted - I have a petrol car.

The rest of the faults seem to be fixed but that was said before and they seem to come back especially car changing to limp mode/ radio turning itself on and the windows opening by themselves. But lets wait and see

3 words that work wonders when car dealers don't want to know. Trading Standards Officer! I had problems with my old Renault Scenic and when the dealership refused to sort them out( still under warranty) i told them my next port of call was to the TSO! Problems sorted within the week AND my warranty extended for another year!

Don't give up. The fact that you have had all these problems makes the car "unfit for purpose" and therefore, you should have the law on your side.

I was going to say, call Trading Standards and tell them the story, they will help you out.

As hairyhame said, you need to quote the Sales of Goods Act as this covers items bought that are not fit for purpose...your car falls into this category beyond too much reasonable doubt :)

sounds like the same trouble i had with marshalls of bedford, crap car , crap dealer.

my advice is get rid, and get another car not a seat.
i swapped over to audi and the service i have received is like night and day.

I'd say that's not the case if it's been repaired under warrantee - rejecting cars etc is when you have a fault that can't be rectified (normally)

granted, you have a lemon it seems

As you are in the Glasgow area why not name the dealers, it could be a one-off with them or they could be known for poor service/support.

Ones i can think of are:
W Livingtones, Uddingstone
Becketts, Kilmarnock area
Arnold Clarke, east-end & clydebank

more money :headhurt: why should that make a difference the car i bought was used and less than you can buy a new fr for.

my experience of seat was that you paid less for the car so you should expect a lower quality in aftersales.

i have owned 2 leons and have never found a decent dealer yet, and i have been to 4 different dealers. the a3 has been to 3 different dealers since i have had it and i have had no complaints at all. service cost has been the same that seat would charge but it works out cheaper ,as there is longer between services as it on variable.

i would rather have the real deal and buy a used car , than a new seat , with seat what do you get , rubbish dealers, low rent interiors, poorly built rattles etc. poor depriciation. it`s a false economy.

paid 15k for my 19 month old a3 s-line and it is now valued at 14k.

trading in the dodgy fr i had was the best move i could of made.

sorry but seat left a bitter taste

Seat are not necessarily a false economy. If the residuals are that bad they are a fantastic second hand buy. I have bought a nearly new petrol Altea and a 3 year-old A4 TDI privately at a low price.
Depreciation on the Altea after 3 years = £135/month
Depreciation on the A4 after 3 years = £125/month
Not a lot in it.
"Now valued at 14k" - who by? The only realistic value is how much money you would actually get for it if you sold. Unless you sell, you don't what you will actually get.

well i had an offer of 14k from someone at work .

if you can live with the crap dealers and poor quality interior then good luck but i wont be going near one again.

yes i was comparing to what i paid for mine and it`s value now, not what the general depriciation is like , i paid about 2-3k less than what it sould of been due to the garage selling it being assholes :p

Im not suprised you angry / upset, its the sort of thing you would expect on a ten year old mondeo or something not a three year old altea ;)

I havn't personally dealt with SEAT UK but from what I hear from others and people on here, there rubbish!

I hope you sort it out, not good when you pay out sooo much for a car then its a bad penny. Just not on.

You say about contacting a watchdog or something, the daily and local papers have some good stuff in. I know on sundays in the daily mirror theres a good section by quentin wilson who regularly deals with such problems the public have. Richard hammond also has a similar section which is good. Worth a try, I mean its not like an E-mail costs? Quentin actually asks people to come forward and email him problems the public have ;) Go for it, I would.
