Bigger brakes before remap

Hi guys,

I'm hopefully gonna get a custom code remap in the next month or so on my 130 tdi, but I'd like to get some bigger brakes at the front to handle the extra power.
What disks, shoes, pads and calipers do you guys recommend and where to get them?

312mm TT upgrade with OE Discs and DS2500 pads cost about £300 all in..

Can be brought as parts from Audi and motor shops online or

Theres a guy called GolfTurbo that sells most of the stuff for £250 ish..

Personally all you need is a Audi TT caliper carrier, (£110-120), new OE Golf/Leon/TT 312mm discs (£80-130) and new pads (OE £40-60) (£150 DS2500 i would suggest thou) this kit uses the standard caliper just extended out further to gain more leverage on the bigger disc.

Good idea if your ok with that, only thing is you need to bleed the brakes to do that job..

with the above kit, no bleeding needed, all "Plug and play" straight forward mechs, no real special tools needed except a 7mm Allen key which can be brough from any motor shop really!

i bought ebc drilled and grooved 312's to replace my OE 312's (being a petrol) and the ds2500s

after id spent that much its really worth an extra 30quid for decent fluid and 50for the lines

This is true! But depends on the involvement modding, e.g. money saved DIY can be spent else where!

in interest Rik, how the EBC going, I always heard really bad things about them, warping discs and crap heat dissapition..?

well i'm gonna have about £250-300 so the TT's would be in my budget, however since mien will probably max 180bhp on remap, would the stock 1.8T Cupra ones surfice?

The derv is slightly heavier than the petrol too, they would be fine with good discs, fluid and some good pads!

Just get the Porsche boxter ones for £900 from Awesome and be done with it. There can't be any better styling products out there than a big fat "PORSCHE" sign through your alloys.
