Re-mapping

Hi Danny

On a healthy clutch +30 - 35bhp and +74NM of torque can be gained without slip.

We will only make the mapping stronger if requested by the customer.

As mentioned above though, it is very dependant on the clutch health prior to mapping. If there was some slip, we can easily adjust the map for less torque.

Our re-map for your model is £275 all in, including a diagnostics check. I have never tested the 0-60 times, although I know some members that we have already tuned have tested this.

Any other questions, please ask

So on a new clutch i could run at 170-180 bhp and around 380-390nm with no clutch slip. I understand it could slip at low revs when giving it the beans. That right? Have any of your customers reported what there mpg is like after the map?

Hi Will
I am convinced that my car really really needs remapping now
I want to book my car in fairly soon, just wondered how long the remap and testing is likely to take.
Thanks for your help so far

Hi Danny

Improved consumption tends to be 3+ MPG on average.

We dont bring the torque in too hard at lower revs to avoid cltuch slip. As mentioned, if you wanted more torque lower down, we can do this, but then clutch slip is more likely.

Hi There

The mapping process will take approx 1 - 1 1/2 hours. When complete, you drive the car to ensure you are happy before payment.

Dyno runs can also be arranged

Hi there.
Have you looked into custom code yet? Perhaps it is also worth looking at the map options from another angle as well as peak power and torque figures.

Our PD TDi maps offer switchable technology with a default stock and performance mode as well as an optional extra third mode which can be most useful. It is also important that the map offers drivability and smooth power right through the rev range.

From a torque perspective it is easy to gain the figures but to do this smoothly and without causing the clutch to slip is more difficult. A custom code map will deliver torque with a much nicer curve and carry this extra torque right through to the rev limiter, unlike a standard or some other generic maps which can be prone to tailing off earlier on. Please always bear in mind that it is the area under the curve which is important for consistant pull, not simply a high spike. This allows you to really make the most of each gear. Full printouts are available from our rolling road.

I hope this helps give a idea of the bigger picture concerned. Please give us a call if you have any further questions.

As JBS Mike mentions, and we have mentioed a few times, dont just look at peak figures. Spiking power and how power is help throughout the revs is 2 different things.

We can do whatever the customer asks. If you want an aggressive spikey map, we can do this, although we do not recommend it.

The P-Torque mapping will pull strongly throughout, have a read of our testimonials in our forum section ;)

Well I suppose if you can get vag com on your PDA and get the cable as well then I see no reason why not. May well be worth investigating the compatibility of your particular PDA and giving it a go!
