Well it wasn't the coolant temperature sensor!
On the way to work after about 10 miles of motorway just cut out.
Hard to get going again, eventually fired and then shuddered like f**k before cutting out again. Key off and on again and off she went perfectly for 50 miles!
This
problem DEFINATELY only happens in the morning after she's been standing all night. After about 10 miles I get the
problem and after that I reckon she'd run until she ran out of petrol without missing a beat.
On the way home, rarely happens ... possibly because I use the car at lunch time and the engine is still slightly warm?? Possibly because I crawl out of town in terrible traffic most nights? Where as in the morning it is half a mile to the motorway and then 80mph for 10 miles.
ideas????? I'm clean out of em!
One thing I did read about is a resistor that heats up when the engine is cold? The ECU turns it off after a certain time period? Reckon this could be anything to do with it? What is this resistor? I read about it on a Polo site.
