Ok, so I'm c**p with cars..... picked up my Ibiza today, just an 's' model, 1200cc, 52 plate.

I didn't test drive it more than about 50mph - when I was driving it at 60/70 on the way home there was kind of a washing machine noise!

Is this normal... any advice would be appreciated.

:D

Could you be a little more specific please?

Is the noise from the front or the back?
How many miles on the clock?
Do the windows shut tight?
Is the handling OK and tyre pressure correct?

More info means more chances of someone here nailing the problem.:)

Regards Guy.

Probably the engine tbh as it can barely pull the skin off a rice pudding. :p

It's at the front. Doors all shut ok, 48000 miles on the clock. Definitey coming from the engine. When I say wshing machine it's because it's kind of whoomp...whoomp...whoomp.....etc etc

Handling fees fine and no probs with tyres.
Hope that helps, please excuse the ignorance.

Cheers guys. Did have suspicions about the wheels.... alloys?? No such luck yet, ha ha. Soon though!

It gets louder the more I accelerate as opposed to how fast I go.

Got a good warranty on it though so will probably just take it in this weekend. Just didn't want to complain over nothing.

Yup, it a wheel bearing, you should notice at speed, that taking a left or right will make the sound louder or quiter, that will show u which wheel it is aswell

P.S 1.2's are rEEt fast :) I used to have one, and miss the sound from the beauty 12v!
