Hi folks,

I have a k04 mk3 ibiza with decat, genesis 380cc, forge cooler, LCR maf & tube!

wondering if you can help me?

i took my car to red dot obd tuning today to get my ibiza remapped. The guy said yeah he could get 270hp or thereabouts but when i arrived it was 240 and i asked why? He said that it wouldonly let him up the boost levels to 12 psi and i thought that was odd as if i went to revo with a standard car it would go to about 18-20? Also i only have one lambda probe, i spoke to a few people and they said this would not affect my map but now when i full throttle it bogs and then pics up but if you use the throttle progressivly (a vanwas passing me at this point lol) you can drive smoothly. Should i put the second lambda in? how am i going to get round the 12 psi?

Hope some of your brains can help

Cheers, Jack

itis defo a k04-23 s3/tt/lcr one

its got a 3 boltdopwnpipe fitment and i used a BAM exhaust mani

red dot are mapping it, not a vag specialist i know but you would have thought? He was using vag com to check readings etc

i dont understand how he can tell me the limits of the ecu wont let him
boost past 12psi, he thinks the only way past it is a bleed valve, i said
i didnt think so, its hard negotiating when i aint got enough info lol

sounds like **** tools (it must be.....)

as suggested, take it to someone who knows what they can adjust on the map, once you're 100% sure the car is 100%!

news just in!

i found out he mapped it or attempted to with the maf unplugged!

would this be why he only managed 12 psi? has he just remapped limp mode?

Could someone verify this is most probably the cause before i ring him?

i drove it in with it unplugged so he mapped it like that, even though i told him to plug it in. Doh

Cheers guys!

:cartman:

It certainly wouldn't help. 12psi is 0.8bar which rings a bell for an unplugged MAF/Limp mode.

I'd say yes, it'll be fine with the MAF plugged in (as long as it's a good one).

LCRs with Revo on max out the MAP sensor at 1.55 boost, tailing to 1.1bar.

well the maf is back in now but its still crap so surely it will have to go back on the rollers with the good maf plugged in and re tuned to 21 psi peak or so?

Cheers, once i sat an thought about it it did seem funny with no maf :D

Pay for someone who knows what there doing to do it and get it done right, jabba, custom code etc...

Sorry to hear about the problems. Hear is some useful knowlege that may answer some of your problems.

No1. By unplugging the MAF you are forcing the ecu to run in speed density mode. This does not affect boost levels determined by the ecu. It does however now rely on rpm and map to determine optimum engine moment.

No2. There are only two protection maps with control over the percentage adjustment of N75 valve. This is generally activated when the specific load level requested is not met positively or negatively. Or the engine sees timing pull above 6degrees for a prolonged session. This does not include single data sections that determine (limp mode) functions and the percentage lowered by.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any further questions on the matter.

Wow, unplug the main thing that controls the fuelling on ibizas. Great tuner.

Sorry you've wasted your money, i'd get a refund and flashed back to standard and go elsewhere.
