MAF - New part from ECP - Given wrong part?

Folks, I'm a bit confused but I think I've been given the wrong part by the muppet at ECP - can somebody help confirm this?

I took my MAF (sensor & complete housing - Seat part 06A 906 461 D) to the desk, after a few minutes typing he handed me a part in the same assembly with completely different internal styling, although the electrical connection is the same as is the air box mounting. I said "they're not the same" and he said "yeah, um, that part has been superseeded" -

1)has it?

2) The part he gave me is Bosch number "0281 002 757" - the ECP label on the box shows it's for a 1.9 TDI!!!! The ECP part number on box is "434 44 0320"

3) I have connected it, it fits, and the car runs without the engine management light coming on. It performs better than it did with the broken MAF but i'm not sure I've got the right part!! Have I? Fortunately still have my old MAF as I kicked up a fuss about 'how can this be right' but he insisted.

Why don't you phone another ECP branch to confirm the part numbers?

Cheers - that's what I did, I called Reading. Sadly I gotta return the part in person to Slough and I was only using that branch because I was at a client there. A 1hr drive from me!! Reading have confirmed the ECP part number and slough have confirmed they have it in stock and will swap.
