I love my 2.0 8v but!!!

this has been discussed before i love my 2.0 8v (not in that sense) the engine is so useable but i need more power after asking around it seams that there isnt much you can do to the 2.0 8v £ per bhp
so do i sell her and go for a 16v or do a engine transplant i am limited to what i can do as i am using it for trackdays and road rallys and sprint events next year!!

yeah still standard as at castle combe
problam i had at donington was they put me in the experts i still did a 1m 35sec lap but i was the chiqcain all day no real speed down the straights

what about a 2.0 8v from a beetle? comes with more poke out of the box iirc,cross flow head,inlet on the front for throttle bodies perhaps.
just an idea

If your keeping the car then a 1.8T would be the logical thing, if you want a 16v then id sell up and buy one.

When I was at Donnington a couple of years ago I was put in the expert class and became a mobile chicane just as you said. I asked to drop down into intermediates but they wouldn't let me.

Anyway, IMO, if you are going to do the work yourself, then the 1.8T transplant would be the way to go. If you can't do this yourself and are going to have to pay someone then I'd sell up and buy either at 16v or a Mk3 1.8T depending upon what your budget allows.

budget is not a problem and i hope to to most of the work myself
the plans are to use this a a competition car next year so i can really do anything i want, the shell is in a very good condition so is an ideal place to start.
i may even buy a 2ltr 16v and have two one for rally hill climb and one for track days and road rallys
