So ive replaced my tyres with some new ones a while back (GDS3s). Tyre pressures all fine. Just recently my handling seems to have deteriorated. It feels very unstable/skittish at motorway speeds and attitude changes can be quite scary. Its definitely worse than it was. Just wondered if there are any known issues? (i have been getting a whining moaning noise from when using near or at full lock at low speed for quite some time, but it has been serviced since that started, with no change)

Mine was a boat when I first got it. The rear trailing arm bushes were shot, the front wishbone bushes were the same and the ARB were knacked on the front and were clonking over bumps.

Hmm, going over bumps the front suspension feels very hard and makes a slightly odd sound. Also when going over large potholes or bumps at speed the rear can give a sort of shimmy making it feel rather unstable. Car has only covered 27k, most of that with me. Guess ill have to take it in. :( Hate taking cars in for fault finding, in 15 years of motoring ive never had a garage solve a problem (ive had plenty cause problems though)

Deffo sounds like bushes mate...... get the garage to whack it on the ramps and tell them you want to check if they are torn....it is a common fault on the MkIV chasis....but ti save a bill if it isnt that....get them to show you! its obvious when they are shot!........it also caused my suspension to knock over bumps....
FIT POWERFLEX ones!!!!! ;)

Mine is doing the same... Going to have it looked at next week, but it is exhibiting all the symptoms of most of the above.

How much did it cost to fix?

Did you replace all the bushes with powerflex ones, or just the ones that had gone?

I honestly can't remember but it wasn't that expensive. I used std SEAT stuff for the ones I mentioned above.

Cheers, hopefully it's going to have it all done on Tuesday. It's quite disconcerting at the moment.

I know exactly what it feels like on the road, mine was all over the place until they were fixed.

All sorted out, cost me about £150 for everything... Also had to buy some new tyres aswell (which were obviously extra).

Car feels so much better now!

Dr Nick , did you get powerflex bushes fitted or standard and what tyres did you get, i have eagle f1's myself and they have improved the handling a lot, great at getting the power to the road and good in the wet.
