Curb-side sidelight on when braking

Hi All,

New member here, hoping you'll can help me.

My Toledos been playing me up a bit over the last few days. Before that it's been fine a really rock solid car but i have 2 - issues.

1. Whenever i brake (ie. push in the brake pedal) my curb-side (nearside?) sidelight comes on. Weird huh? I have no idea how the two are in any way connected. I guess somewhere there is a short, can anyone out there advise me where these lines may pass so i can check for issues (or any guidance at all?)

2.Recently the coil light has been flashing at me. This happened a few months ago and i found it was due to my brakes being out due to faulty brake-light switch. I replaced it, all went away. A couple of days ago 5 mins into a journey it started flashing again, the brakes and lights are fine though. This happened a few journeys, then anouther journey it came on after ignition was switched out, 10 seconds later it went and i havent seen it since.

I don't want to take a working car to a garage cus they will screw me, so anyone got any ideas? It's been fine for 5 days now.

I have no idea what to do, if anyone has a solution to my winking car please let me know.

Thanks

Daz

Thanks,

Darren

o.k. excellent. Lamp body of rear brake lights or the dodgy sidelight?

Just for future reference, a common cause for this is when a single pole bulb has been put into a socket intended for a double pole...
