Hi There

The map is always on when its flashed. If you did ever want the ECU flashed back to standard, we can do this free of charge. :)

....but do you have before and after dyno plots of your remapped 170s that you could post up here?

I don't have a 170, but do have a Cupra. Like Keith, when I get mine mapped, one of the key buying points will be if it has the ability to revert back to the standard programme via a box or control I have as I would not want to have to go back to the tuner every time I had a warranty issue or a service/repair done on the car.

Can you do this?

We dont offer a switchable unit Im afraid.

I wont onto it, but the switchable options aren't as invisible to dealers as you may think

According to the local tuner up our way (Star), the GIAC unit does not up the CPU flash counter which effectively means that provided the car goes in to the Stealer as standard after switching the programme using the box provided, there is no way they could ever tell the car has been touched.

Without bumming up Star (I doubt I will be going back to them) my old switchable Star remap was never picked up by the Stealer and it was in for warranty work several times and SEAT technicians both from the Garage and SEAT UK never detected it, and the flash counter must have been to at least 50.

As said previously, I dont think I am alone in thinking this but with the MK2 Leon being so new, a switchable remap can only be a good thing as it is way to obvious if a turbo car goes in to a stealer remapped. At that point, no doubt any problem could be attributed to extra power if the Stealer wanted to get s****y.

Yes I can back that up I have a GIAC remap and use the GIAC switch unit!

switchable is the way forward IMO, that's what i am waiting on, and i think its what people want espec if your concerned about warranty issues.
