Just bought an R!

Just thought I would put a post up as I have upgraded from an Ibiza Cupra to a Leon Cupra R in red.

I initially went down to look at a TT convert, but ended up seeing a gorgeous red R and after driving it I couldnt help buying it!

Will get some pics up once ive picked it up on Saturday!

Plans so far are tints, remap and get my private plate on it, any other recommended starter items? Performance related or not!

Definately a dog bone mount bush, £30 fitted and BIG difference
S3 strutt brace £50 from Audi fit yourself
Neuspeed rear ARB £200 fit your self if you have ramp access
Fabia or Touran rear wiper £25 ish fit yourself

Plenty other options but these are a must

Think the ARB will have to wait but the other bits and pieces are closer to my pennies budget until I have sold my old car lol!

The engine mounts make a big difference you say, how come?

Virtually eliminates wheel hop when trying to get a fast start
Car doesn't lurch when lifting off from hard acceleration and car feels more planted/engine feels more part of the car, normally feels quite loose.

It's not all the engine mounts just the rear 'dog bone' engine / gearbox one

You need axle stands / ramps and a decent torque wrench to re-torque to the correct settings after removal.

It's fairly easy but access (rear of engine / gearbox) is the only tricky bit hence the axle stands etc being required.

Well my dad is an old skool mechanic (ie works on classic cars! ) But hopefully between the 2 of us it should be easy enough, just need to get the correct torque settings!

Ir'll be easy wiht 2 of you, if you can get under the car, safely, thats the hardest bit!
