Sod all. Mileage, condition, service history, part of the country it's bought from, sellers expectations, time of the year, which way the wind is blowing... all things that have just as much, if not more affect on the price.
just found out today that i had been sold an lcr 210 rather than 225 and was going to go back to garage and see if i could get some cash back thats y i asked the Q
It depends on whether you asked the question and they definately said it was a 225. If this was not mentioned by the garage or you did not ask the question imo it would be very deficult to get any money back off them because they will say 'sold as seen' and you could have asked the question - it must have been noted on the for sale details was it not?

Well that is just wrong then! you have a very good case and do not let up. Selling you a 225 when it is actually a 210 is definately a case at a minimum to demand your money back, or if you like the car then as you say push for some refund.

Not quite true, the difference is 12bhp, the 210 is 210bhp not 212.
Also, I think you will struggle to prove it was sold as a 225 and not a 210. At the end of the day I assume you had a good look around the car, had a test drive and liked it. (I would have done an HPI check too!!)

I just remember reading an article in a magasine a while ago and they were saying the 210 is actually 212bhp whereas the 225 is actually 222bhp.
But anyway, as you rightly say there is so little difference between the 2 if you are happy with the car at 210 is it really worth the hassle? having said that it would bug me and i would have to go back to the garage.
What did the HPI report come back with before you bought the car?
To be honest, you've had the car for so long now that you stand no chance of getting anything out of this. It being a 210 and not a 225 hasn't caused you a problem, hasn't given you any less for your money and doesn't mean you paid more than you should.
Your insurance price wont change, so no harm done there. 03 210 will be the same as a 53 225. Possibly a few pence in it, but nothing worth thinking about.
The performance is the same, so you've not lost out there either.
And to be brutally honest... if you didn't do a HPI check or something similar, and do all your homework before buying the car, you can't blame the garage 10 months later when everything is still fine with the car and you've decided you're not happy.

Hmmm 10 months is long time i did not realise that. I think your only period for any comeback is 3 months max. Also was it a backstreet garage or a stealer?
Yup, the steering wheel is nicer. But as that obviously hasn't stopped gb from enjoying or even driving the car for 10 months, I'm fairly sure it's not grounds for a refund.
rob your right i have enjoyed the car and from what i can gather everone think i no got a chance of getting any money back or do i chance my arm with the stealer
The worst that can happen is they laugh at you and say take your business elsewhere in the future. So big deal. If you don't ask you don't get.
