Yes, this question again LOL. I gather from searching that it's been discussed a few times already, but I've got a couple of Q's that I've not found the answers by searching.

I've been looking for close-up pics of the LCR splitter fitted specifically to a mk4 Cupra front bumper, just to see how well it fits. To me - looking at my Cupra - the bottom of the bumper isn't completely flat: the sections towards the outsides are slightly lower than the centre bit. I was wondering how this looks with a LCR splitter as without seeing one properly it seems to me that it would have a bit of a gap in the centre. I've seen plenty of pcs of them fitted to FR front bumpers, but the FR seems to have a much flatter edge to the front bumper and looks quite neat.

Can anyone asnwer this, or post up some good pics for a look?

Cheers

Search for rashcupra, think he posted a pic of his LCR splitter up close to show how it fits, unless he's online...

Cheers! Just found the pics of Rashcupra's car but it's hard to distinguish the splitter from the bumper because of the black-black combination. I suppose in that respect that means it does look OK on dark colours but it'd be good to see a few more pics.

Anyone got any clearer close-up pics?

Unrelated, but couldn't believe the badge on the front of rashcupra's car: I've just ordered the exact same badge from ebay and was planning on putting it in the same location. Thought I was being original but oh well LOL...

Looks good, but it's specifically fitted to a Cupra I'm looking for - different edge to the front bumper, hence me Q's!

IT does look a bit out on the Cupra, but still worth doing. Not sure if you search for pics of mine you may find some.

Couldn't find any pics of yours DIFT but I did find rashcupra's mega-14-page thread and quite a few more pics. It's convinced me to get me a LCR splitter! And so my intention of not modding this one has been broken already...

I was thinking about getting one but from the pics on here it looks like it doesn't fit properly and looks like a diy job so I have decided not to get one

Rash has also given some good advise and said cut some rectangles into the bumper so that the clips in the centre of the LCR Splitter will fit in and then when the LCR splitter breaks it's easier to refit back into the original position.

Cheers for that advice - I read that somewhere in one of rash's posts. His seems to be a good fit so I guess it just takes a bit of patience to get it right.

I just feel it finished the bottom of the bumper off a bit more. I used to have a Clio 172 and the "Cup" versions (same with the 182) came with a small 15mm lip around the bottom of the bumper - it was amazing the difference a tiny bit of plastic made. I fitted one to mine and I'm aiming for a similar effect with this on my Ibiza.

I've got no plans for changing the suspension at all so I think I can easily get away with the splitter.

Cheers richard, got sorted!

T'was a piece of p*ss! Phoned local SEAT dealer, found out they had a LCR splitter in stock, stopped by on my way home from work to collect ("That'll be £20.71 please sir"), had my dinner, then just under 2 hours later I had the splitter fitted. I took my time with it and cut two slots in the underside of the bumper to slot the clips into rather than chop the clips, but it's worth it IMO. "If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing properly!"

Not the best pic as I just finished fitting it and it's a bit dark. Doesn't show it up but I think it's a great job I've done [B)]. I've only had the car 3 days and already changing things FFS... It's not perfect as there was a natural twist in the plastic, probably as a result of the way it'd been stored at the dealership, but I've jammed a bit of wood between the bumper and splitter overnight to try and sort it a bit.

Cheers for all the help folks :)

looks so much better and makes it appeal to be alot lower and thats how i like it :D  ive fitted two splitters to my car the first time all screws and the last time i tryed cutting the rectangles worked very well so i recommend that every1 does it that way its firmer and is a more natural line JOB DONE VERY EASY!

last year i bought my car and vowed i would never mod this car and the number plate kept on getting unstuck so i got a smaller number plate and it snowballed from there just getting silly but so much more to come as i always bang on about

Cheers Rash, it was the pics of yours that convinced me to get one. I wasn't entirely convinced before I got it but it makes such a difference, I'm very glad I fitted it :)

It's actually sitting a lot better now - there seemed to be a bit of twist in the plastic around the middle, probably from the way it was stored at the dealers but it's now straightened out a bit.

I'd recommend it to anyone :)

You can definately paint them - I've seen pics of Glanzas with them painted, but I'd imagine it'd be best to smooth it down, primer it, then paint it TBH. Looks fine in grey on mine (obviously) but should be OK on a yellow.

Rash - I'll have a look and see. Hardly driven the car in about a week, just circumstances at work. Can barely remember what the front looks like LOL.

painting these i think is a no no as you have to bend them too fcuk to get it to sit right so you would spray it then when you go to fit it................ CRACK!

could paint it on the car but would get a pants finish!
