also i here re-mapping get thrown around alot on here! what power would a re-mapp give extra and how much would you be looking to pay for one?

obiously loads of other things need up grading to...

just wondered if any1 with an Fr had made this jump...

kinda feeling bit **** at the moment cos one of my mates has just bought a new Focus ST 3  and its like sh*t off a shovel. 2.5l engine. 225brake.

Remap will see you pushing 180bhp and almost 300 lb ft I would have thought!

It would be more with a Green panel filter/exhaust not sure if the leon can use the bigger intakes from LCR??

Brakes would need to be upgraded though if you did remap, extra power needs help to slow it down! ;)

A map on a PD150 like your Leon should see nearer to 200bhp actually. Due to it already have uprated bits, and a FMIC. Id stick with around 300lb/ft and that should give your mates new ST3 a run for its money until 4th gear :)

An FR TDI would struggle to get near 200bhp. 180-190 is where you will be looking. I had a leon fr tdi with green filter and revo and it got 183bhp and 189bhp on different rolling roads. A Full milltek system may help. I now have a ibiza cupra tdi with green filter, sachs clucth, full milltek and custom map and that is exactly 200bhp and 450nm of torque. No way would a leon fr tdi make 200bhp just off a map without the rrd lotto occuring.

Chillcupra... but your answer gave the reason why your Leon never hit 200bhp... Generic Revo map, then on the ibiza, custom map and uprated clutch...
The main problem of having anywhere near 200bhp on a Leon, is the clutch with die in a month with that power... so all generic maps only map nearer 180-185bhp as the torque figures are just within the limits of the OE clutch..
I have a uprated clutch and remap and 4bhp off 200bhp... depending on rollers..
If i custom remapped i could break the 200bhp barrier, but might as well wait for the new turbo and injectors and hit 265bhp...

So basically, with a decent remap near 200bhp will be achievable.

Yes, as i have been told, but dont expect a standard clutch to like it, nor your dual mass flywheel!

As for the FMIC on the PD150... yes it has one, and a very effiecient one so i have been told... as to weather its the same size to the Ibiza, i dont know... some for Mikey to answer maybe?

FMIC wont make any difference in this debate as the Leon FMIC is good upto 300BHP so i am guessing so is the Ibiza...

The one in the Ibiza Cupra TDI is bigger than in the leon. Agreed with above go to Bell Autos!!!

And do you know what size injectors are on the ibiza and the leon, as that is where the real problem of breaking power bands are, not on the FMIC... as Jonjay says the FMIC is good for 300bhp...
And also could you inform us all of the sizes of the FMIC on the ibiza and Leon... as I'm interested to note this difference?

I had a green panel installed on mine and then a jabba custom remap, made 193bhp and 313 lbft. They back off the toque and power but still 2 weeks later the clutch slipped. Over the moon with the map the car really shifts. Im of back there in august for a new clutch ARB's and uprated enginemounts and bushes.
I would get it remaped without a doubt, If your pockets are deep get a new clutch fitted at the same time, If not stick with a geric map and you would get 185 roughly speaking. Only my opion.

ps - get your @ss to Bell Auto's !!

My 1st map was tame & the clutch started slipping, then I got a new clutch & a more aggressive map - the car was easily twice the car it was form the 1st map.

Only thing is, it's slow now compared to my bike lol
