My pioneer amp blew up. The fuses were blown and at first I was hoping if I just replaced the fuses it would work. It did work but now it kept cutting out as soon as I tried turning up the volume. Going by the manual it reccomends that when it does that it has to be sent to a pioneer service center. Basically its fubared.

So I took it back to caraudio security and they are sending it off to pioneer. However I couldnt wait up to 30 days with no sub so bought a new sub and amp package. Basically I got the same sub I have now but in 12 inch and a legacy amp. Got the stuff home all excited. Setup the amp and connected to the old sub but theres no sound. I have no idea why its like that.

The amp powers up, but the power on L.E.D doesnt light up. Could it be that my inline fuse is blown? Would have thought if it was there would be no power to the amp at all. No idea why its not working but I want some sound

Yeah I checked all that. Really it should work as the amp that blew still worked up to a point. I now think that its the new amp that is faulty. Its more powerful than my old amp but much lighter and the build quality isnt there. Its like some cheap american designed chinese built budget unit. Dont like it at all looks and feels cheap and nasty.

Stay away from legacy products. They are crap and so is their abysmal 1980's website :censored:

Gonna get it exchanged for a kenwood amp and just pay the price difference. Another long trip to city center london though :(

Buy a kenwood or pioneer, my mate fits audio for a living so if you need a hand, you aren't far from us, he wouldn't charge much! :)

Got the kenwood today and wired it up. Looks very very nice and the quality is so much better than that legacy piece of ****. The legacy is like some electronic good you buy from your local market which then breaks two days later.

Anyway back to the kenwood amp. The quality as I said is very good and only cost £30 more than the legacy. The Kenwood build quality is better than that of my pioneer and it has a inbuilt fan. Very nice.

So hooked it up to my pioneer 12 inch and it sounds go, the 10 inch is more punchy whilst the 12 inch has more depth. Interesting to see what its like when its run in.
