My mk2 gti is getting lowered today. I have been told that it handels much better when spacers are put on the rear. What size spacers do i need? I know most replies are going to be "you can find this be using the search function" but i need a quick reply!

Do the H&R 15mm Hubcentrics fit on ok? I have had 2 sets of Hubcentrics (admittedly both different sizes) but both did not fit over the HUUUGGGEE rear hub things, they were about 3mm out. I thought it was a little too pikey to run 15mm hubcentrics with long bolts as well as a set of 5mm spacers on long wheel bolts!

The guy who sells the cheap as chips spacers on Ebay for the Ibiza sells the Delta Mics. As already stated they do not fit, BUT after I sorted my problem, I posted the seller photos and info, and now he offers to mill them out for you free of charge so that they fit. Quality of the spacers and bolts seems superb and the Customer service is also great. Adam1.4_biza ordered a set from him last week and they went on superb (after seller milled them slightly)

Here is a comparison picture of mine. BTW they are 20mm (40mm total) hubcentric ones.

People tend to leave the front as standard. The main reason for spacing the rear is that the Mk2 Ibiza is a hotch-potch of cars - the front is like a Mk2 Golf, the back is a Mk4 Polo. That leaves the standard track narrower at the back than at the front. So spacing the back out just makes them equal (or closer to being equal).

There is also some debate about fitting spacers on the front due to the possible extra forces on the suspension caused by having the wheel sitting further out from the hub. It is less of a problem on the back as they don't have to steer.

I've got 3mm spacers on the front of mine just so the wheels clear the caliper :(. I wouldn't trust something like a 15mm spacer on the front of any car, I don't know how people feel safe driving around on adaptors either!!
