right ive been putting this off since getting the car , but with no A/C its too damn hot lol . My drivers window wont work . the switch is fine , and the motor works ( i can see the mech goin up and down) it looks like i just need to put the window back in the clips/runners . is this do-able or do i need a whole new mech ?

cheers

i've got the same problem, the plastic clip has popped out, these cant be bought and its a common fault....whole new regulator, unless you can 'fashion' something that can work.

i tried it, it held for a few weeks, but knackered again. i'm awaiting a new regulator now! £90+vat

So let me get this right... the plastic clips that hold the silver window brackets on the black runner peg things, cannot be bought seperately??!

One of mine broke. I'm gonna look at welding something to that ******* than spending £90 on a whole new regulator!!!!

yup, from what i've found out. the 2 plastic clips cant be replaced, need the whole regulator!

if you manage to fashion something, let me know, i tried everything i could think of but nothing held.

if the windows only popped out of the clips then just put it back in... if the clips have come off then its a totally different matter

On mine the window keeps sliding off the little black peg thing that the window brackets sit on.

IE the silver metal clamps that hold the window in place... the things they sit on (two black metally looking peg things on the regulator) dont hold one side of the window in place.

I can take off the door card and sit the window back on the runner but a day or so later it will just go clonk and fall off again :(!

Does this mean new window time? I tried wrapping a cable tie round it and doing it tight, worked for a day or two but broke again, might try it again with the aid of some contact adhesive and see if that works!!!

Someone on the polo forum said they put a screw into the black plastic pegs things, but mine look like black METAL peg things!!!
