Westmidlands.
Hi there picked up my LCR in Monday and love it.
I have already changed the stereo so that i can run my ipod through it i have also bought a forge split r dv and intend on also dropping in a ramair maxflow air filter some time soon.
I said i would never buy another black car again but when looking for a Leon thought that its was the best colour out the lot.
But today the sun was blazing on it and it was showing up a lot of swirls and like smear marks on it but looks mint when not directly under sunlight.
Other than the above mods i want to try and get the bodywork free of all the little scratches and stone chips. Does anybody know anbody other than chips
away to do this for a good price.
Other than the paint issue the car is mint and has only covered 13,600 miles, its on a 04 plate and i rate it a lot better than my TT which i ihad before.
I think i did ok on the price aswell as i got it for £10,400 with 2 owners.
I have added a few pics below, these are from the add from where i bought it from as i have not had a chance to take some of my own yet.

Welcome. Very good price for the mileage.

Yeah i know,i think i dropped lucky as the guy i had it off wasnt short of a bit of cash having already got a porsche carrera and a BMW X3 so he wasnt too fussed about getting top price for it as most cars i looked at the same year were around the £11,000-£11,500 mark.

you should get a replacement splitter for that front bumper, but looks stunning in those pics.

Yeah i have a forge split r dv to fit and im also getting a ramair maxflow air filter fitted.
Are these two mods easy to do myself of should i have them fitted by a specialist.

Where are you bud?
I could give you some names to get the car looking mint and remove the swirls.
Do you realise that you have the front splitter missing?
I've noticed that you have the doors de locked, make sure that the fuse for the central locking has been re located also;)

Hi mate welcome to a great forum lots of lovely people here with great tips.
Lovely choice of colour, black is best imo. Split R is great, loud on my car will be better on yours due to more boost pressure i think anyways look on ebay they have splitters most of the times. cheap as well although money isnt an issue wid u im guessing as you got a real bargain.:)

i think seat only charge around £20 for a new splitter. it looks like you got yourself a bargain there, although i'm not too sure that black is best! :p

The splitter is very cheap ~£30 and push fit so I would go to Seat to get an original one.
As for swirls if you PM me what town/area you stay in I can put a request up on a detailing forum I am a member of and see what there is in your town/area.
You will be about £300 for an A1 job that will make you:drool:

Not sure i want to spend £300 quid as the link provided earlier in the thread seems good for the money.
It looks like the car has not been cleaned properly as ther are light scratches all over it,if i were to pay a detailer to do it would it remove all of these.

Have a search through the detailing section on here - some of the work these guys do is nothing short of miraculous.

Removing all the swirling and scratches on a new-ish motor would be child's play - money well spent (if you have it)

Of course, you can do quite a lot yourself with a clay bar and some decent polish/wax properly applied. And you'll need a lot. I swear I've spent more hours washing mine than driving it so far.
