H&R Cup Kit Suspension
-----
I originally was going to go for Koni FSDs with Eibach springs as I was worried about the ride comfort with the coilover route. I also read that KoniFSD's gave around a 20mm drop which is about the drop I wanted anyway. However Koni sent AmD the wrong set TWICE! so not to waste my time further AmD stated that they had the H&R Cup Kit (with a good discount) in which is every bit as good and in their opinion better than the Koni FSD route.

Being skeptical I contacted a few well known members/friends on here and they confirmed that the H&R Kit was an amazing bit of kit. I stated various concerns to AmD and they offered to fit these at a discounted price and if I was not happy they will fit the KoniFSDs & Eibachs as per original order for free. They also said they would fit my Green Panel Filter and Dogbone mounts for free too!

Results: I am so happy with the H&Rs that I didn't even want to try to KoniFSDs. To get a second opinion I drove to Slick's place and we took the car round a myriad of roundabouts...needless to say Slick was very impressed as well. I'd like to thank AmD for a good service!

Exhaust
---
Quite well know that a mufflerectomy is a cheap and good mod for the TDI. Took my car to Pipecraft in Basildon. Good little workshop which came highly recommended. I basically asked for a for a de-muffler pipe, it removes the backbox with just a straight though pipe. You also get to pick a shaped tip of your own choice so I choice an Oval tip (LCR style) to give a more OE look.

Results: The sound the car now gives is truly amazing! A real night and day difference. I also noticed that it has freed up a few extra horses. The car is more free revving and has not problem revving up to 4.5k rpm without the power suddenly tailing off. I also noticed how much more soot comes out, bottom lip after driving a mile or two got dirty already.

Brakes
-----
After a lot of research I decided to purchase that doing the 312mm brake conversion was the way forward. I finally chose the following:

ATE Powerdiscs ATE Part No. 24.0325.0123
EuroCarParts Part No: 926440280 eurocarparts.com
312mm calliper carriers: from vagparts.com
Ferodo DS2500's: FCP590H from badger-5.com

I heard a lot of good things about the PowerDiscs and the price for the pair was quite reasonable. DS2500s is a forum favourite and feeling the stopping power in Slicks car there really was no other option!

Results:

As you can see the callipers need painting when the weather decides to be nice for a change.

Other mods
---
Few other mods I done were debadged back. Left the Leon and TDI badge there as I want people to know it is a TDI and not trying to be something its not. I know we have argued about this on many occasions. Oh and the good old Fabia rear wiper is as good as ever.

Debadged back and Fabia wiper:

Splitter took a good hour for put on. When my friend and I were preping the splitter we decided to chop off (flatten) the lugs so the splitter is flat on the bumper. This took most of our time but was well worth it.

Final little mod was the tax disc holder...:funk:

Looks very nice.

I'm definitely going to be going the 312mm brakes route when I have the money/need to replace the discs. Wouldn't mind mine lowered, but might just get some springs and keep the standard shocks because I only really drive on motorways :D

Don't agree about the TDI badge, but then mine has never had one. Infact it just has a spaced out L E O N below the seat badge. Looks nice a clean. :)

How much did it cost for the full brake upgrade if you don't mind?

The whole brake upgrade cost around £350 but the price went up because of the PowerDiscs and brake pads. You can shop of like 100 quid by getting standard Audi S3 discs and Mintex Extreme pads which is quite good aswell.

Looking good!

You have done several of the mods I am planning.

Definetly need to come down to have a look at your car sometime soon.

The back is slightly higher because engine is at the front of course. Only way your going to stop that is if you get coilovers and a spirit level.

Surrey darling...
Does look good! tbh I think I'd have stuck with the twin pipe set up with that bumper but thats just my opinion... have been meaning to get one of those tax disc holders myself :D

I think the Oval pipe makes it look more purposeful. Anyway the sound and performance gains from it are great.

Cheers for yesterday Maz, and to Rodger aswell!

The exhaust sounds good, definetly a worthwhile mod. Plus as you say it seems to have unleashed a little bit more.

Hope you have got over the disapointment of BBT only having one set of ARBs

Rodgers car on the other hand is something else:D:D:D

Your very welcome Ollie, it was great to meet you - was quite a good laugh actually. The look on your face when we went round the roundabout was so funny

Anytime you want to do it again, you got my number give me a shout.

I will never forgive Rodger when we were at BBT haha! I still cant believe they only had one set, I was so ready to get it! Rodger has kindly given me the part number so I know what exactly I am to buy now anyway.
