Induction Mods for FR TFSI

Hey guys first post!:D

Can anyone recommend a good induction mod for my petrol FR

I'm currently torn between the Carbonio and PiperX Viper

Can I expect to see any HP increase with either or are power increase claims just marketing bumpf?

Cheers

Thanks,

Seems like the Neuspeed is failry highly rated, I hadn't really considered it as it looks very similar to the K&N kit I had fitted to my Toledo that actually seemd to kill some low down torque.

Anyone got any experience of the PiperX Viper or know where there is some info on its performance

Cheers

So I go the bonnet up and pulled the induction systems apart

Agree with criticism about the Carbonio kit, its just a fancy replacement duct.

I was a bit non-plussed by the fact that the factory airbox is part of the engine cover. Am i right in thinking most induction kits mean removing the engine cover?

Have to disagree with the criticism of the Carbonio, if you look at the standard intake, where most of the airflow goes into the engine bay :headhurt: the carbonio (in conjunction with a pipercross panel filter) channels 100% of the airflow into the intake and does improve the torque and the spread of power too. As a quick and easy upgrade, it works, however, for real gains, the Neuspeed, Evoms and Dbilas intakes are the weapons of choice, and these do involve either removing, modding, or replacing the engine cover, there are a couple of replacement carbon fibre engine covers for £300 or thereabouts.....

Thanks for the advice, how hard is it to remove the engine cover?

Taking more air into the Carbonio Intake would this not effect anything else like engine temperature?

No, the only thing you need to do is to let the engine tickover (no revving) for 10 mins to allow the air mass sensor to recalibrate itself for the extra airflow, haven't noticed any increase in engine temperature, just torque :p
