I'd like one for the 2.0 Tdi, the rrp is £45, there are some on Ebay but after adding p&p they are still close to £40.

Does anyone know where they can be bought at a price that a tight fisted Northerner would pay ?

Or is there a decent alternative to the K&N ?

I have a Green Cotton filter. Apparently they are less likely to damage the maf. only trouble is it cost more than £40. I got it from Demon Tweeks.

If you're worried about oiling of the maf, clean it regularly, no probs.
A good non oiled filter makes it pretty much maintenance free, but if you use an oiled filter, don't go mad with the oiling , or you might have problems.
Cleaning the maf isn't that hard, but would be a hell of a lot easier if the screwdriver bits were available generally, rather than on special license.

I take it these are panel filters, has anyone experience whether there is any difference in noise or just a small gain in power?

I'd advise caution when cleaning the maf. Many have bought new ones as a result of this.

Personally, I'd not use an oiled filter, nor attempt cleaning a maf unless it was failing and I was in need of a new one anyway. Having driven "maf'd" diesel engined cars for the last 6 years and close to 150k miles and never needed to replace one, I personally think that anything which introduces any substance except clean filtered air to the maf is a bad idea. Your mileage may vary.

Thinking of changing the filter myself when the car lands. But can't find my model Leon 2.0 fr 170 on the green cotton site????
Which model car is it for? Or are they all the same for that engine as it's in the Altea too I think.
