Just checked my DV for a good seal by blocking pusing the piston in then blocking the vac port. My piston sags back untill it covers about half of the other port before stopping. It obviously has a good seal as it will hold in that position as long as i have the vac port blocked but my concern is the fact that its blocking half of the other port. Does this sound right?

Aslong as there is and opening for the air to exit then its fine. What spring are you using? You'll find that by using a stiffer yellow spring the piston will pop back more than it would with the green.

I'm using a Bailey DV26 with its stock spring (black) not sure what that equates to in Forge terms. But the way mine works a stiffer spring would make my problem worse. As while i'm holding the piston under vacuum i'm fighting against the spring to hold the piston up. So surely a softer spring would allow the vacuum to hold the piston up easier, thus not blocking half of my port?

Oh right i thought you had a 007. Isn't the DV26 an atmospheric valve? Not sure how bailey's are put together to be honest. But yeh the vaccum will obviously hold the piston open easier with a softer spring. Aslong as there is a gap for the air to vent then there shouldn't be a problem.

My bad, its the DV30 i've got (recirc). So as long as there's 'a' gap i should be ok then. :)
