Hello all,

Has anyone had a new clutch in there FR TDI as yet? My Farther in law works in my local Seat Dealer as mechanic and has change a few on the new TDI. I know a clutch is down to the way you drive etc but just wondered if anyone has had one go yet.

Cheers

He's probably the guy who fitted our clutch..........

I'd be REALLY REALLY REALLY interested if he's changed ones other than the one on WV07KME...........................

PS over 1000miles driven in the new car without issue, so our problem never was a driving style issue :censored:

Hi,

How strange, I was looking around your car this afternoon. Old one that is! lol

I haven't heard of anymore, thats why I wondered if there were anymore on here! I will ask him when I see him next if he has done anymore.

Cheers

As the other post says, personally we think the second clutch was fitted incorrectly by "your local dealer" and the original was faulty from the start. However we were unable to prove that, and Holders were unable to prove that it wasnt but they held all the cards......

I also got rid of my SEAT as the service that I was getting was dire - 3 attempts to cure my suspension noise (anti roll bar bushes) and each time the car came away with grubby marks all over it. I've replaced mine with a smart forfour cdi, Andrew has a Vauxhall Signum and the service from both dealers has been exemplary so far.

However I hope that your new car will be fine, and that he has in fact only replaced the clutches on Andrews car. If I find out i've been lied to and told that it's something they've never come across before when that wasn't the case, Holders of Congresbury will have WAR on their hands.

I haven't read the other thread fully as yet. I feel for all your probs that you had with your car!

Will ask to see if anymore have come in with similar issues

But.......

Your first post says that he has changed a few on the new TDI

...yet now you say you haven't heard of any more....

...and then quantify that by saying you'll ask to see if any more have come in with similar issues. Clearly there have been others as your first post says so. I hope it's a regional problem and not something likely to make its way up north. Might put me off buying a Seat.

What I meant was more than one on one car!

Hence why I was asking if anyone else had issues with a clutch.

Sorry for the confusion, I should read what I typed before posting!!

Originally ours had the clutch pedal higher than the brake pedal which I thought was odd but when your local dealer is an hours round trip away we decided to live with it. BIG mistake.
