Saw one lad on here superchargering his 1.8 16v on a budget of something like £800 just for the parts. Im looking into it for 2.0 8v and have researched the kits you can get hold of for £1500 or so but would have to import it. Or if paying prices over here its like £2000 plus.

I want to be able to gather the parts but seeing as it's a 2.0 8v and not 1.8 16v then the list that the other lad has made isnt going to be exactly what i need. So wondered if anyone could help me out?

I already know before someone points out that fitting it anyway is going to cost £1500-£2000 alone depending on where i go, but i know few ppl to help anyways. I am really serious about this as im going to start getting money for part pretty quick but not before that S**T bonnet is taken off my car.
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

as yours is an 8 valve i imagine the g60 charger would be good for yours and some of the g60 parts, there is a guide in a magazine somewhere where they supercharged a 2.0l 8v engine, you get good gains.

Chargerwise apart from the G-Lader, there's the Eaton m62 and some rotrex chargers also look at lysholm, but the last 2 are very pricey (kidney selling time)

to be honest mate, the G-lader is a shite charger, the design was patented in 1905 or sumthing silly, the Eaton is a better design because it is all one sealed unit, no oil feed etc

dont know about rotrex or Lysholm, think they're both scroll chargers

eaton M45 or M62 from the Mercedes will suffice

to perhaps get a cheaper one with some mileage on, look out for written off Kompressor mercs on ebay, as there are some good deals to be had

add to the shopping list a FMIC or smic might be sufficient in this case, depending what power you will be running, megasquirt and fabricated parts

I think from reading up on threads on clubgti.com, the 8v is easier to supercharge due to a bit more room in the engine bay and the mounting of the SC is easier

only expensive part will be fabiricating the pipes for the FMIC to the SC...however you could make it up from Samcos and straight and bend tubes....thats what I did with my old Laguna FMIC on my ibiza and it was sufficient enough

that and the charger brackets, they're a custom job to, getting mine done in the next couple of weeks

cant you modify the alternator brackets at all, or do new ones have to be made up

im sure i read a guy doing this

?

tbh wanted to use a mini copper s supercharger as cheaper and easy to get hold of. so what you guys think i would need off a g60? can it be the corrado g60 as i would imagine its the same engine?

lol, the mini SC is the eaton M45, same one used on the Mercedes, or the M62 variant which is the larger SC

as yours is a 2.0 I would recommend using the M62, which would be better suited to the 2.0 engine

the M45 will be near its limit on a 2.0 engine and will be running nearer max boost

I would steer clear of the G60 SC, as Chris said they are not cheap, and cost more to get reconditioned. The eaton M45/62 chargers are also easier to find as you said

not sure what you could take off the G60...perhaps the mounting brackets?

anything else I would just get the normal samco hoses, FMIC etc

u could maybe use the g60 inlet manifold (one of the expensive parts and possibly the G60 Ecu

megasquirt would be better wouldnt Chris, as isn't the G60 ECU a bit old now?

just thinking you might be able to get a little more, if not setup options alone on the megasquirt unit

your going megasquirt right?
