If u tap the indicator left or right slightly it flashes 3 times for when you on the motorway,
they should add that feature to bmw's but when the steering wheel is turned slightly so u know when the f£c£$rs are pulling out in fromt of you.

My wipers slow down when on intermitant and i'm stopped.

if your stationary and move the wheel i think its cos all the power is goin into the power steering, try tunring all lights on buttons on and air or full then turn the wheel everything dips, my fiesta was really bad with this!

I only found out about the lane changin indicator thing the other week after driving a new astra that has weird indicators and wiper stalks that you just tap for use in a similar way.

I test drove an astra before deciding to go with the beeza and thos stalks are wierd; how many times did you nearly snap the indicator off trying for the click???

Very fancy cars mind just i trust VAG more.

Yeah, exactly that - the Ibiza has an electro-hydraulic power steering system and big electric motor powering it is really bad for draining power at idle!!

- On the top of the windscreen wiper stalk, you have the Intermittent Wiper interval control.
(so you can speed up or slow down your intermittent wiper speed. Neat)!

My car doesn't seem to have the feature that switches the climate control to recirc when in reverse... Mines a late 04 SX 1.4 petrol... could it be newer ones or just diesels that do this?

I like the 3-flash indicators, but sometimes they're a pain if you hit it by accident or decide really quickly that you're not going to change lanes, then you can't stop them unless you indicate the other way.

The new astra indicators sound like a nightmare!! What happens if you want to turn them off manually because you change your mind or something - do you have to indicate the other way or something?

havent read the entire thread but tell you wehat i dont like

my radio keyfob unlocks the car from the toher side of the car park.

so if someone else gets the key they just need to press the button and watch for lights

can this be changed to say 3 metres range?

the 3 flash indicator - by the way you can 'bypass' this by levering the arm till it clicks into indication position, then moving back after it';s just done 1 or 2 flashes.

it definitely works for 2 flashes, at least.

yes, thats what you have to do! my workmate has a new astra 1.9 ctdi company car.

it's not too bad tbh...still quite intuitive and easy to operate.

to be confirmed - but did you know that if you are on the lower interval setting and move it up, the wiper goes immediately.

if you are on the faster interval setting, and move down, the wiper does not go immediately, but only reacts after the new longer timer :)

this was originally a positive thread and has gone to wards pointing out flaws :(

but as we are talking about wipers....................if you are on full wiper speed and find the screen is greasy guess what happens when you squirt some screen wash onto the screen ?

the speed drops to normal speed for the 4 wipes [:@]

if you have rain sensing wipers the little rocker on top of the wiper stalk for controlling intermittent speed controls how sensitive the rain sensing is

The Wrong side of the Pennines
Ibizas were built for left handed people... You unload the shopping, the bags are in your right hand, the handle in the back of the hatch is on the right.

The grab handles don't have the soft damping that other VWs have.

You miss the little visor above the rear view mirror 'cause that's where the sun always shines through.

You need a boot light.

The handbook tells you how to reset the service indicator and that you can run it on chip fat if you like.
