New Cupra TDI owner with a few questions

hi,
i put a deposit down on a 04 Leon Cupra TDI and should be picking it up in a few weeks hopefully but i am already planning some mods and i have a few questions about exhausts that hopefully someone can help me with.

Does the Cupra TDI have a silencer in the center section of the exhaust system?

As i have looked at the supersprint center section for a LC TDI and it has no silencer, is that right?

I have read alot about mufflerectomy's on diesels, what is this?
Is it just taking the baffles out of the silencer on the back box? Or is it fitting a center section with no silencer?

I used to own a modded PD Ibiza Cupra and they had no center silencer and i should think the same applies to the Leon.
As for exhausts i like most people had a Milltek which was well made with nice thick metal. Cheaper exhausts i tend to find are cheaper because the metal is rolled a lot thinner and so will not last so long. Milltek have been going for years but saying that there are some other good makes about. Supersprint on the petrol cars tends to be quite load i don`t know anyone with a diesel thats got one.
mufflerectomy if you do a search you will find loads of info about it and the pro`s and con`s. It is basically a diesel boy racers version or a petrol car with a 5" exhaust, it seems to be quite a fashionable thing to do at the moment but i hate the sound and don`t do the "hay look at me" type of thing.Basically it means having a pipe with no CAT or back box on.

so a mufflerectomy is just removing the baffles from the back box then, can this be done to the standard back box or do you have to get a new one from a custom exhaust place and specify you don't want any baffles in the back box?
i don't want to have a decat due to problems it would cause come MOT time.

A decatted TDI will pass the MOT - they dont test emissions, just the amount of smoke produced

mufflerectomy is removing the back box in total not just the baffles. Removing the CAT will cause no MOT problems.

Basically louder and more tractor like. Blueflame can make anything if you pay them. If you just want to remove your back box and keep your cat just pop down to your local custom exhaust maker powerflow etc and get the back box cut off and have a piece of pipe wielded on the end with the type of tail pipe you like on the end of it. Removing the cat is a waste of time unless highly modified as you will see no power increase. Cost is very cheap like £50-£100ish

I would recommend a Full milltek non res system. It reduces the idle noise slightly and it sounds awesome under full load.

I'd love the full milltek system but i can't really afford it so i'll probably go for the mufflerectomy and see what its like.

Out of interest do you think that £9600 is a good price, its a 04 reg Leon Cupra TDI, 47k miles, from a SEAT dealer, a years warranty obviously, and its having a service and MOT.
