I want to take off my inlet manifold to polish it. I think it would look wikkid. Is this an easy job?? Don’t look too hard.

All I can see me needing is a new gasket and the torque settings for the bolts.

Has anyone done this? How hard is it to take the injectors out?

Easy job if you take it steady. Pop a power gasket (insulating) on while you're at it.

Here's my new one waiting to go on (professionally done)

Dave, what you think of it? He said that one for some reason was an arse to do. I think mine looks awesome.

Nice piece of work. I don't know how hard you looked at it, Phil... I can see where he's had real difficulty - but that's down to the casting - without reading this post I'd defy anyone to spot what's wrong with it in 10 seconds.....

Funny, I'm 50/50 with the FMIC at the moment. Do I take the charge pipe outlet a la Ibiza and inlet as LC (leave my own inlet mani on), or do I run it like a Leon Cupra R (and use the shiny one)? Any thoughts?

For the op - if you're going to do it, get it done professionally. It'll mean getting hold of a spare and getting it sent away, but the difference will be worth it. I've seen some that have been done DIY and some that have been done on the car - not worth it IMHO.

They always look a bit minging with a polished manifold and unpolished throttle body, so you might want to think about that.

Dave - got to be easier to go Ibiza charge pipe style? Although don't they have problems with the turbo outlet hose (at least forge do a TT/S3/LCR one)? Perhaps one for your project thread, but there's a fair bit to source/change to go LCR style charge pipe. Have you got a single pass FMIC?

Edit: In fact, I'll reply to you in your thread.

i think you should let me buy the shiny one (assuming it's for an 'R' )

I was going to recommend GLM, but postage costs might now be a problem (they've relocated to Austraila!)

I think they quoted me £70 odd including pick up and delivery.
