did anyone else see that 550bhp corrado in redline? someone should really do that to a 20vt curpra, it would even weigh less!

just had some thoughts - what boost you setting up for as there are loads of optional pulleys available to up it on the mini now

what compression you aiming at with twin gaskets ? i know of some shims that may be a better option dependent on height though

how you limiting the boost ? the good old dump valve way ? gotta be looking 10-15psi or thereabouts i guess so some safety may be helpful

mercedes use a clutch (elec) similar to the a/c clutch so while ya there may be worth looking into to convert the A/C button to a boost on/off switch :):)

do you know anyone with the housing for the top of the charger (to cooler) the 4 bolt square to oval pipe - i need 2 if you see any

i was worried about pinking myself when i looked into it

mind have heard of some 9a based motors running n/a @ 12:1 compared to a std 10.5:1 so even a minor drop in compression i would imagine is reasonable

hell i doubt it will be pinking with an fmic anyway but if you do get it its a goos excuse to up the fuel octane ;) hehe

i managed to find some mahle pistons and had em fitted 2 weeks before i realised the S2 i think it was had the same bore (83/83?? summat)

keep us on track how u get on - got a fabricator who is both ingenious and handy if you need anything made up

finally the charger is here :D the hardest bit to find

well chuffed, brand new part, from the USA, may explain how long it took to get there, so now when i get paid i'll have the brackets and pulleys made and the charger installed to run in, and then save up for the megaquirt etc :D

been relooking at my bits of paper since you started this but have a look at these intercoolers - unless you are going custom that is

late mondeo 2000 on
vauxhall movano / renault master
and renault mascott that was dirt cheap new as it happens if not large :p

all of em have potential to fit snug around beeza rads (16v size at least)

i have somewhere a prototype base bracket for the gap left by the alternator as we were gonna move that to where the AC compressor is to make it easier for making the custom parts up

personally for cool air i would remove the number plate and drill through bumper and front panel for best effect

as per the original kit cars - i think F2 stu has done his cordie too

e.g.

your probably right ref coolers - those above new from valeo range from £55 - £110 even at franchise nett so why compromise for a few extra quid and if its too fat there is room to relocate the radiator in many ways to help make room

dont forget sides and guides for the airways especially under the rad/cooler - after the old F2 bumper i had on mine makes a hell of a difference - on random testing lowered oil temp a good 8-10 degrees when most needed

i have a merc elec pulley at work but sadly its damaged but got hold of it as a pattern to see if we could convert the aircon switch to a supercharger on/off switch :)
