somethings wrong here. Its only a 1.4 and I don't rip it everywhere!

also the drivers side lock is gone all weird on me :headhurt: it turns like 1 and a 1/2 turns until it unlocks, but it locks fine just the normal 1/4 turn!

Edit: forgot Im getting 2 new front tyres tomorrow, they have been wearing on the inside whats this down to?

cheers for any help :)

110 from £20 is 16v territory :) short journey's by any chance ?

drivers lock is removable easy enough - theres an allen screw under a grommet just inside the door level with the handle to get it out and check it over

if my old brain serves me right although the handles are different you should be able to swap the lock and bits over from the passenger side if its all ok - be warned it can be fiddly so a kitchen table job really

inside wear only would suggest either negative camber or severe toe out on the front alignment either way when you get the tyre's have your tracking checked too should yield a sign or two to get it sorted

£20, im lucky to get 100 mile in my 16v not that im heavy on the throttle or anything

tyre wear on the inside could be something worn ball joints ect id get it checked over for anything obvious like worn bushes/ball joints by someone with abit of mechanical know how. Or you could just go for a wheel alignment thats usualy around £25 and can probably be done by the people supplying your tyres..

There's no F in Quality..
lock are easy to swap over, don't even have to swap the mechanisms apart.... just remove the two handles, swap them over and refit ;) 10min job.... did the same on Em's 1.4 at the weekend due to the lever on the inside of the drivers lock disintergrating !!!

you can actually buy a repair kit on EBay for about £8

I thought my 1.4 was bad on fuel! I could probably have 160-180 miles out of 20 quid!

Yeah my tyres were unevenly worn on the inside I just got the wheels aligned for 11 pounds aparently both the front wheels were pointing inwards by about 4 degrees!

i get about 180-200 miles off 20 quid from my 1.4, depends a lot on if i have been stuck in traffic or given it some welly at any point
