aH HAH. I knew there was something funny going on here. I remember reading another thread recently - ICR vs LCR. The LCR takes it, but only by a small margin, due to the weight difference between the 2 making the bhp per ton only marginally better on the LCR.

But, a lot of people on here were saying a LC should be evenly matched with a 206 gti. Which...in turn people are saying is evenly matched with an ICR. Which, would mean that it's pretty much evenly matched with an LCR.

I'm sure you see where im going with this :)

I wouldnt be afraid of gti180. Had a 306 gti6 before the LCR and in the real world theres nothing between the gti6 (167bhp) and the gti180 in a straight line. Throw in some corners and the gti180 will be found sideways in a tree when its poor handling is found out, with the gti6 miles up the road.

So i'd assume the same with the LC, in a straight line there'll be next to nothing in it, but put some corners in and the 180 will be wobbling all over the place.

If i thought a 180 would even come close to the LCR i'd have bought something different. Even if the stig is driving the 180, its such an embarrassingly poor car he'll be lft miles behind. Trust me, i'd ease past 180's all day long in the gti6, but i know for a fact that the LCR is a much quicker car than the gti6!

I hope so. I keep seeing a black 180 rinsing around. I'm hoping to destroy the bint one day!

Find yourself a plate and go hand him his arse on it! :D

Try getting him to follow you to a twisty road and watch him tip toe around the corners, theres more lean on them than a motorbike!

Sorry mate.. But not only is the 206 GTI 180 around 60kgs lighter than the 306 GTI6, but it's got 13bhp more, so you do the math.. Plus after having driven them both, there is no way a 306 would ease past one, other way round i'd say.. I agree on the twisties, the 306 is better, but not for pace.. The ones you raced must have had a numpty behind the wheel..
Even the Rallye is slower...
Few figs from Evo mag..

206 GTi 180
Weight 1160 kgs
Power 180bhp
Power/Weight = 158bhp/tonne
0-60 = 6.9
0-100 = 18.7

306 GTI6
Weight 1215 kgs
Power 167bhp
Power/weight = 139bhp/tonne
0-60 = 7.2
0-100 = 20.1

306 Rallye
Weight 1199 kgs
Power 167bhp
Power/weight = 141bhp/tonne
0-60 = 6.9
0-100 = 19.2

The thing I noticed when I had the 180, was it didn't FEEL that quick, but certainly went better than it felt.. It would seriously give a LCR a headache (standard obviously) especially a 210, trust me..!

Just wish Peugeot would sort themselves out and bring us a decent Hot hatch, like they use to back in the day!:(

Driven all 3 of these cars to mate and my mates all have them and i've got the 210, a headache no, more of a pain off the line, after that then they dont pass, the cant keep up above a tone - and i havev the 210. the wee 180 is defo the quickest of the bunch but not quick enough top end.

The LCR will eventually pull away, especially as the speeds get higher like 120+ i'd say.. But very slowly, as in them being a headache.. And to be fair mate, looking at your signature, you've got a fair few mods too.. Not massive gains, but will be noticable over a standard LCR i'd say..

Ben, have you ever had a side-by-side comparison of the two cars - LCR and GTi - or are you going purely on the way they felt?

Both mate...
I was running a 210 LCR for about 3 months about 3 years ago and my mate had one for a weekend.. SO we thought it would be rude not to give them a blast down the local DC.. From 30 - 130 there was near hardly anything in it and I was very shocked. As when I drove it, I thought it felt a bit gutless.. But it was far from it..
In fact we gave it that much hammer, we bust the gear box..lol
