Retail price is taking the piss I would say. I ordered mine just before christmas and paid £16300 OTR with metalic and bluetooth. Ok so they were a little bit quiet at that time of year but you'll definitely get some money off.

tell me about it, £18,100?........I'm not looking to pay any more than £16,500 :D

this is more like it:

Drive the Deal: £16,537
The Deal Negotiator: £16,375

This for the FR TDI in Red with 18" & Bluetooth. Just waiting for the written quote from TDN and then I'll speak to the dealership to see what they can do!

fr170tdi,
18"alloys

bi xenons

Thats quite expensive, especially since the paint is not metallic extra..

Though the bi xenons would have bumped the price up by nearly £1k, I wanted them, but not at that price!

List prices,
FRtdi £17495
18"wheels £350
Bi xenon £870
Winter pack £275
I pod £75
Bluetooth £250
Convenience pack £195
Ali trim kit £50
Mats £60
Total list price £19620
Price paid £18225
Save £1395 off list, also its a factory order car and a new colour(candy white), not to bad from dealer ,but they gave me £800 more part x than deal neog, so i was quite happy, if i had no part x the deal neog is the way to go.I know xenons are quite dear but what price do you put on your saftey, once you have driven a car with xenons its hard to go back to c*** lights.
Car should be here tomorrow, i hope.

Is The Deal Negotiator just a sidlow thing? I'm at the other end of the country.
I've got:
SEAT Leon 2.0TDi FR finished in Black Magic with Bluetooth, bixenon and convenience pack £17,366.00

or without the xenons and convenience pack
SEAT Leon FR TDi finished in Black Magic and Bluetooth £16,401.00

Don't suppose there's any chance of my local (David Penman) dealer matching that is there :(

I'm sure I asked for 18s in that lot too.. hmm.. Well anyway, the retail price of that (top) lot is £19,277.00.
If I can knock 2 grand of the price then I'll definitely buy it. Only problem is that sidlow offered me a pretty crap part-ex deal on my current heap. I'll see what DPs offer me on saturday.

Anyone from the other end of the country done a deal via TDN or whatever the other site was? My main concern is if there's a problem with the car that I won't be able to take it back to where I bought it, and local dealers won't be interested/won't take decent care since I didn't buy it from them.

I mean, I'd love to support local dealers, but I'd rather not to have the **** taken from me on the price.

Sidlow are a Seat dealership and it shouldn't make any difference where you bought it from as you'd just take it back to the one nearest to you.

I think TDN charge for delivery? Otherwise you could try DriveTheDeal. There's probably not a lot between them and DTD include delivery.

Well, the best thing you could do is tell your local seat dealer what price you are getting and see if they can match it.. they should be to be fair! As I said I got mine for 16,2. with 18" wheels, bluetooth and metalic paint..

Your being offered a crap price for your part exchange cause this is where the dealers really make their money - it is up to you whether you find this acceptable or want to sell it privately - the problem with private sale is if something goes wrong the person can come back to you personally.

I got £900 for my car when it may have been worth £1100 at most privately - though for the sake of £200, i couldn't be bothered with the hastle, of having to advertise it and do the cherished transfer etc etc

Just heard that my new FR will be available to pickup from next Tuesday! Didn't take too long from order to delivery!

I now just have to sell my battered old Rover 200 and sort out the insurance ;-)

Very annoying as I only renewed the insurance on the old car yesterday...I bet Direct Line are going to charge me to switch it over....

snap .. looking to replace my clapped out rover with an FR, trouble is I've found it difficult to source one which matches what I want for the price.
Budget 16k-16.5
Spec (in preference order)

Bluetooth/Xenon

Can't find a dealership with either bluetooth or xenons, so may just drop if I can get the local dealer to depart with their fr for 16k

hi craig, congratulations.

am i right reading back thru the thread that you only placed your order at the beginning of may? was it a factory order with extras, and if so which ones?

by the way, dont you get a cooling off period with insurance like other financial products? if so, cancel and renew.

Hi, yes I ordered begining of May and it was a factory order which was already in the system but not allocated to a customer.

Mine is Red with bluetooth & 18"'s so probably quite a common order.

Yes there is a 14 day cancellation policy but the cheapest quote I've have is still with Direct Line. I'm hoping they will waive any ammendment charge since i'm free to cancel it anyway.

I understand the golf is due to be replaced within the next year therefore making it a old model. The leon should be around for the next 3 years at least.

Drop into your local dealer and they should be able to look on the system to see what is around with the spec you want.

I did today and ended up getting a stonking deal on a brand new FR they had in the showroom, but had to settle for luna grey instead of red. The deal was to good to walk away from.
