but peak airflow will be greater on the 16v engine though? just that it might throttle it a bit because it's not designed for that engine

Mini cooper s's are 16v too mate, Yep they are only SOHC but still 16v, so should be ok.

but it will be passing more though on the Ibiza, as its a 1.8, not a 1.6, therefore larger in volume and more air flowing

still its only 0.2 difference in capacity so the M45 should cope fine with it:)

Strange, in his profile it sais:
This Is What I Drive:
mk2 Ibiza 2.0 Gti 16v Cupra Sport :shrug::confused:

no it was discovered a little while back that he drives a 1.8 16v version. Chris thought he had the 2.0, but it was pointed out it wasn't

confusing I know:)

yeh i didnt know what engine i had lol (noob)

in terms of the brakes and chassis i'll be buying braided lines and cross drilled discs, and new pads to. And possible roll cage in the back, a place near me called ludlow motorsport make custom cages for around £400, and they're approved (by whichever people approve these things) but strut braces (front upper and lower, and rear upper) will do when i get paid

:lol: I didn't realize they did a 1.8:doh:

Yeah the older ibizas were fitted with the 1.8 variant, before then moving to the 2.0 version

Chris - regarding your brakes, I would just go for grooved, as of course, with drilled brakes I only hear of them cracking, especially the power or hard breaking I am sure you will be doing:D

yeh i wanna get the engine finished first, thats the expensive part, and any technicalities (hopefully none) on the way

then the brakes, the brakes arent shite as they are so i'm not too worried, and i wont be ragging it too much becuase i'll be letting the charger bed in

Different - sounds real interesting, but be prepaired to have the car off the road way longer than you imagine - fabbing up bits for it will be very time consuming

Regarding the brakes - 1.8 16v's had 256mm front discs, same as 2.0 8v's got. 280m discs from a 2.0 16v or mk3 20vT are a relatively cheap upgrade and would be well worth considering if you're looking at having an extra 50% or so more power on tap...

rocket_ronnie : yeh thought about an LSD to, just to get the power down better

f2_stu: yeh they're gna fab up the parts while i'm driving the car, and then fit them all in one go, i'm gna leave the charger with him to make the mounting brakcets, he'll measure up in one visit, and then fit on another, he did his in 3 day trips, cos he needed it as a daily
