probably going to get my TDI FR remapped by these guys at some stage soon but before so, just got a few more questions, first of all if i get the remap and it takes the car to 170bhp or so and 270lbs/ft torque will it in any way decrease engine life? or is it perfectly fine to remap and the engine not to be under strain or pressure? also if im remapping to that HP, will i need new brakes? or will standard FR ones be more then enough? car has got 22k on the clock also.....

Engine will be fine. Brakes come down to how hard you drive the car.

define how hard i drive the car lol?

How long is a piece of string? There is no set measure. Only you know how hard you drive your car and in what conditions. If you get brake fad now it will get a bit worse, just wait and see if you cannot work it out yourself. Uprated pads are about £90 or most people just buy the Audi TT brakes that are sold on ebay by golfturbo i think he is called, 312mm and two pot caliper about £200 i think. Do an on site search as its been done by loads of people. Depending on how hard you drive the car you might need to save for an uprated clutch as that is a weak point in the car.

fair enough mate, wouldnt say i drive it hard but depends what ppl define hard by, i knew a uprated clutch may be needed but only if torque levels went above 300 or so

Stock cars quite often burn out the clutch if drivern hard or in the wrong manner so a remap will only make the situation worse no matter what make of remap you go for. How long your clutch will last depends mostly on driving style plus a bit of luck.
