I have to go along with mitchys astonishment here! At least one of your mates must be alot richer than the others!!!! :-o

lol yeah, just a good mate from uni - his old man has a Rolls Phantom, so aint short of cash

Mate is only 23 and since passing hes had a Veilside EVO running about 500bhp with SEVEN TVs in it, Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and Now a Lambo Gallardo which is being traded in in July for the new Lambo LP640!!!!!!!!

If i was 23 and had that kinda money, I would much rather have a LC.......

Why would anyone need 7 tvs in a car that can only seat 5? Is that covered with a household tv license?

Anyway, it seems odd to me moving through such a wealth of supercars to a Lambo LP640 - quite clearly a track oriented car. If I had that kind of money I would have something pretty special but still practical and something everyday. An Aston DB9 for best and maybe an Audi for tootling to the supermarket and places where people practice adding lines on your car with their house keys.

I have always gone up in in BHP with every new car I have purchased and grown my ability with the increase in power. I fear your friend will come to a sticky end. There is a reason why 23 year olds don't have super cars. I am assuming that he doesn't profesionally race 911s at the weekend for fun.

Anyway, anyone recommend any remaps?? Im in Scotland, how about Star performance?

I got my 51 leon LC 180 remapped at Star Performance about 1 1/2 years ago and have had no complaints! Excellent service from Jim, last time i was down he replaced the diaphragm in my forge eliminator FOC. Will definately use him again. He has loads of maps and will definately find the right one for your motor.

Back to the thread title....

With a fwd car you need a ATB diff for any kind of serious power....
0-60 times are boll*cks.... 0-100 is nearer the mark, or 1/4 mile times.

People that want quick 0-60 times need to buy an EVO/STi/S3 etc. with 4 wheel drive, but they will loose out top end due to the transmission drag.

My 0-60mph time is around 5-6 seconds-providing I get away without smoking the tyres, but I will hit 100mph in around 12-13 seconds, and 150mph in around 25 seconds.

4x4 is for people who want to drive fast without being able to drive well....

A well sorted fwd chassis running on well set up KW varient 3's, decent tyres, poly bushed and a trick ATB (Active Torque Biasing) diff should hold a light to any 4x4 (S3, STi, EVO etc) once over 30-40 mph.

Very impressed! You know your stuff.

I would be interested to know what the 0-100 for a stock LCR is. Suppose it all comes down to the driver.

My LCR shocked me after is was remapped by jabbasport, on the M6 it went straight upto 160 mph no struggling, ran out of anywhere to go on the speedo, i was that amazed i even took a photo of the speedo lol. Before the remap it would get to 140mph and then creep up to around 148 over 2-3miles

Not sure if I am more impressed with the speed or the fact that it was photographed at that speed!!! Better a canon or a nokia than a gatso I suppose! You're a braver man than me! :D

Given the number of cases recently where internet forums have been investigated by the press, Police and insurance companies to catch and prosecute people who make such stupid claims, I'd stop saying things like that if I were you. Try and explain to the Police why you were doing 160mph on a public road, one handed while concentrating on taking a photo.

Or... post some proof! Post the photo you took, we don't believe you.... ;)
