Please HELP someone. ATP have just emailed me to say they have run out of GT2871R, so i can downgrade to GT28RS and get back 100 dollars, or they have offered me a free upgrade to GT3071R, but will this physically fit?

HELP

never heard of the GT30 fitted to an ibiza yet, pretty sure I have discussed this with someone before and there is not enough space, hence the GT28 option is of course very popular

I think from what iam reading that the GT3071RWG is in the same housing as GT2871R and 28RS and therefore that should go in. Will see if thats the turbo there offering.

my initial thoughts as well, peak power will be higher, great for track use, and my god some seriously quick power top end but when needing that lower down grunt (on your private road of course) it might almost feel a bit VTEC'y

with the power top end.....where would drive everywhere at 140mph?:D

I wanna gonna say that some serious work to completely run the Gt30, lag is gonna be immense on that thing as well as you need some serious mods, i.e internals, inlet mani etc...

Also would you need to bore out the 1.8 head to 1.9 to reduce lag?

this is going down the Bill Brockbank route if you are going GT30? similar power and internal workings etc

im going down the 1.9 route later in the year i think even with maybe a bit of nitrous just for the 1/4 mile.. but as for which ever turbo he decides to go for its gonna be fast as fook mate.. i will no longer hav the faster cupra in town!! haha

I personally would to help spool it. Thats a ****in big turbo. lol.

Why dont you try Ballistic Matt for the GT2871R, they got them.

also if you are in the area of the 450bhp+, then alot of work is to be done to the head, strengthened internals etc and this is where again it gets bloody expensive to do

GT30 can be fitted but it can and will be tight and may require a little bit of manipulation in places, it will be a very laggy turbo, more so than the P20 housing which is less laggy than the GT2871R, which means by the time you've spooled chances are Pete will be long gone... this is what made me end up with IHI over a TD06 type turbo.

As for Forge FMIC v's Jabba I have two RR results I can post, one making 323bhp and one making 343bhp when I got the car back it was slightly I'll in places which has since been sorted.

The GT3071wg uses the same housings as the GT28 models, the only difference are the size of the compressor and exhaust wheels. As for lag, i would imagaine that it wouldn't be that much more than a 28, full boost by 3800rpm ish i would imagine.

I've got the GT28RS kit in my Mk3. Was a pain to fit as there was no space really. All up and running now with 1.1bar of boost, and she absolutely flies!

The rear engine and gearbox mounts had to be completed fabricated to allow the engine to be tilited forward so that the turbo would fit.

yeah, but in their defense they were prob just giving you options to get the best out of yours, there must be some truth in it from their point of view just whether its going to be worth £800 is your choice.
