GF compatibility problem/leaking air

When I initially bought my leon, my girlfriend seemed pretty compatible with it. Hard not to be, especially since it's a Leon.

However recently, when I go to upgrade my leon with mostly decorative parts (silly little things like a gaitor or something), the GF seems to spout hot air and make an odd noise that sounds a bit like "you're wasting your money".

I've tried hitting it with a spanner, but it still makes the same noise.

Don't particularly want to replace the part because the initial costs of these things are quite a lot, so I need some kind of compatibility suggestions from you guys.

Ideally some BS about how these mostly asthetic parts will improve the car's performance tenfold.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated :)

A few simple rules...

Firstly, and most importantly, only tell her if absolutely necessary - repeat after me; "No dear, it's always been like that...."

Everything costs a maximum of £50, no more.

Every time you buy something for the car, buy something for her. Not big though, as that takes money away from the car fund.

And lastly, next time she complains, ask her how many bags / shoes / make up / jewellery she has and why she needs to spend so much on it.

I hope this helps :)

Try disconnecting her batteries for a while, if that doesn't work try running with her unplugged for a while. A few days without hair straighteners should do it.

Anyway, it's not about performance, it's about resale value...

Yeh and put alot of time in to your posts.

I have been with my GF 2 years now.. I spent 6k on my civic and 2.5k on my A3 and we forever arguing about is. She was saying "You never have any money to go on holiday or take me out to dinner" - Im like HELLO YOU EARN ALOT MORE MONEY THAN I DO YOU PAY FOR F*****G DINNER.

Back to the point. Now i just tell her to shut up and she does..:cartman:

Just percivieer and she will get the message!!!

If all else fails.. Use Robs advice!!

Admittedly the "everything costs 50" solution is a good one - I might even lower it slightly and say I won it on ebay "real cheap".

As a man, you should know better than to ever involve handbags in a discussion though, you'll only end up somehow having to buy them one :(

My mods? I've only had my Leon a week, and so far every single attempt at sneakily ordering a part has been shot down :( I just barely got the new aerial under the radar...

She even threatened the unthinkable if I tried to use my credit card.

Think i'll forget to take her on holiday this year ;)

Im so wrong in the head!!!

On a serious note. Do you have a morgage and kids etc?? that i could see her point. But if you just a couple and have spare cash tell her to get lost and let you do what you want :D you only live once :)

No mortgage or kids, and I intend to sneak it past her by just not telling her :)

She's only seen the car a couple of times, so fingers crossed she'll have forgotten what it looks like...
