OK done a search and loads of threads on this, noticed water trickling down the side of the plastic from under the dash in the passenger footwell, carpet is quite wet so has been slowly coming in during the rain last night.

Washed the car yesterday evening so wondering if I have moved a seal when jet washing the car around the lower windscreen/bulckhead area.

Here is a pic of the leak, "IN" is where it is trickling down and the red/yellow arrow is the flow to the carpet.

Could this be a blocked drain hole in the corner of the bulkhead by the Pollen Filter or will reseating the Pollen Filter/housing sort this?

Getting fed up of problems with this car....

Leak in Boot
Squeaky Brakes
Rattles form every where inside
Eating front tyres
Now leak in footwell

I had the same problem ash, mine turned out to be the front drivers door. The seal around the metal plate that fits behind the door card was knackered.

Once you have removed the Pollen Filter Cover at the bottom of the windscreen (2 Screws and a bit of fiddling) there is a plastic curved rectangular cover underneath that protects the filter from water if the water was to get past the bonnet seal.

You have to make sure this is clipped into place properly. It will locate and clip on the two filter frame clips that secure the filter and its frame to the Air Intake Ducting for the Air Con.

Once that is correctly positioned audibly "Clipped" in. The cover just has to be slotted in with the edge under the bonnet seal again.

Hope this helps, I should have taken pics but I have not got a working camera at the mo.

I changed my filter last weekend and spent a good 10 mins making sure this was all seated properly. Since then, loads of rain and a dry footwell.

Cheers for that mate, I don't think it is the door leaking though as the leak is coming in the gap that is up under the dash to the side of the glove box so too high/too forward a water inlet to be the seal around the ancillaries carrier.
Will use that guide though to help with reseating the Pollen filter and seals/ checking the drain holes etc. :)

Mine has been leaking from the bonnet release handle in the driver's footwell.

Any ideas? Is there a pollen filter on the driver's side too?

no pollen filter on dat side.
when reove the wiper cover you see a whole, that is used for the bonnet catch cable, the seal around that may be worn.

I think my Leon may have a leak drivers side by the bonnet release catch!

Will have to investigate when I get a chance.

Ok just been out on my lunch break in the rain and removed and re-seated the pollen filter and the housing/seals 2 times and the water is still coming in.

In the very corner the rubber back of the cover does not seem to sit tight up underneath the metal part of the bulkhead very well, I did notice that someone has fitted tape to this part of the rubber (double sided maybee in a fix before I owned the car)
Anyway with the covers and the filter out I put my hand down inside and into the rotary fan bit I could feel inside and this all seemd dry, so water is coming in underneath this housing or above, the box that the filter sits in is all wet around the front base (engine side) and makes a spongy noise in the corner where the one screw holds it in place so don't know if that seal has gone around the bottom of the filter box?

Will take it out if the weather breaks at all this week, if not it is booked in with Seat in Caldicot for Monday afternoon :(

I am sick and tired of this car and havn't had it for a yeart yet, it has been in the garage for a total of 5 weeks since I have owned it with two Dealers fixing leaks, squeaks, rattles, noisy brakes (paying out of my own pocket for some mintex pads in hope this will stop the squeaky front brakes) gear change clunks etc, etc.

One thing for sure is that I will never buy a Seat again, worst build quality out of any car I have owned (Ford/Mini/BMW/Audi/VW/Volvo)

Ash - the pollen housing assembly is bolted down in two places under the scuttle, one bolt to the right under the bonnet strut and the other right at the far left back as you stand infront of the car.

If your car is on a 55 plate, take it back to El Stealer and get them to sort it out - no sense skinning your own knuckles to get in there. That said with a small socket set ( sorry can't remember the bolt sizes but they're no more than 10mm) you can get in to remove the bolts and lift out the pollen filter housing. Personally i'd do the job myself - i trust me :)

However when i took mine to bits to run powercable to the boot, i found that the housing wasn't seated properly the first time i refitted it - it should be a nice snug fit and watertight too.

It might nead a bit of time to dry out before you will see the water stop. If there is a puddle somewhere, it will carry on leaking in til the area is fully dry.

Don't lose faith mate, I'd have a look at what Fester suggests, clean and dry it all out, reseat everything and see if that helps.

It is booked in at El Stealer LOL, was gonna take these two screws out and see what the seal is like around the pollen housing assembly , as I said where the bolt that is wing side (right side as you face the car from the front) is the corner closest to the front of the car is very wet sponge sounding when the whole box is pressd down so was gonna get the box out if the weather breaks and silicon seal all aorund the bottom of it and stick the box back on and see if this solves the issue. if not will $tealer it.

Loose faith LOL, I am getting to the stage where I just don't care, the garage can have it until it is sorted, can't be bothered with it anymore

I'm sure mine had some kind of foam / sponge seal around the lip - it was quite a nice snug fit, however it's possible yours sn't sat on the hole properly. Each time it rains, the water fills up and spills over the edge into the car.
