sub and amp

Ok first off i have tried looking for an ice section to post this and I'll be darned if I can see one lol
So my question is - does anyone know of a good ice installer in the north east. I already have a sub and amp ( from the Landrover) but i need a custom fit box to go in the boot for the sub.
I'm new to the whole ice modding and don't want to spend an absolute fortune on buying new stuff.

I have the 1.4 DAB ibiza so the head unit is a good piece of kit to start with ( when i can work the damn thing [:@] )

So in a nut shell - any one know who does custom boxes for subs and any good fitters who arent gonna rip either my car to pieces or my eyeballs out :headhurt:

Thanks in anticipation of replies

well, I know for a fact, autoleads do custom fitted sub boxes around £50 for specific cars. There may be others.

As for fitting, buy a fitting kit from any audio store, run the fat red wire from battery to sub amp 'pwr' the thin blue wire from head units blue wire to 'rem' on the amp and the black earth from the amps 'grd' to a suitable earth on the car. Then plug the thick speaker wires from the amp to the sub, on the two outer + and - ports. This will bridge the amp to give the sub all it's power.

on the other side, run the rca cables from the head unit to the amp.

Theres a place on scotts wood road in newcastle that look pretty handy. They should be able topiont u in the right direction.

Forget the name. just as you go over the bridge onto scottswood, over the first roundabout then its on the left.

hiya, there IS a lead that uses a port in the back of the DAB radio, so you can run a sub off the SEAT standard radio

My mate was gonna get me one, he works in a car audio place in bolton, and he's an audio fitter. I'll ask him for the part number tomorrow for ya. Makes life a bit easier.

thanks for the replies, newcastle isnt that far for me as I'm not actually durham per se.
And Gosforth is within distance also so I'll make a few phone calls.

As for install my self - are you kidding?? (much to my disgust this is where the I'm a woman thought comes in ) I wouldnt know what to do with it , you make it sound all so easy but I cringe everytime someone has to go near my car to do anything with it!
Does it have any aux points?? no idea all i remeber is the car dealer telling me it didnt have any speakers in the rear and if u want to put speakers in the back to expect it to be hard to do ( me thinks he was wanting to have my car again :) AND MORE MONEY )

jbl's dont sound too bad just dont expect top quality... there budget speakers to be honest with you aimez are they comps?

no they are not componants but they sounded all weird and slightly crackly so i sent one back and they have found a fault and are sending me new ones. They might be budget for you guys but iv spent £40 on speakers before and even physically looking at them they are a hell of a lot better than previous ones iv had. It's a bit like alot of things on cars on here people always tell you to get the expensive best thing but you don't always want to!

Just a quick earthing question.....
I've tried removing the bolts on the rear seat belt points but they are a complete ar$e to shift. They're at an awkward angle. Anyone have any tips or is it a simple case of me putting some time in down the gym!?

Any suggestions where else to ground? Need somewhere on a short wire, supposedly they were meant to be ideal?!

i stated a thread about this last friday i think lol, do a search for ' Sub earthing point' and you should find it, there was loadsa helpful stuff there!
