im gonna say it's the 1.8 16v (just found your pics)

reason i say that is the rubber intake pipe on the 1.8 16v is different the the pipe on the 2.0 16v

the temp sensor and isv pipe are housed on the inlet pipe on the 1.8 where as there on the airbox on the 2.0

another couple of bits the 1.8 had was a 2.0 8v style spoiler and 256mm front discs

pic below is my old 2.0 16v engine

the pipe from the airbox to the throttle body is the bit that gives it away

mine is different to yours, also i think the distributor timing was adjustable on 1.8 and not on 2.0

Stu

not sure on the sensor side can't remember

1.8 16v out of a corrado would be a KR engine with mechanical injection, where as the 1.8 16v in an ibiza would have EFI.

I thought the 1.8 versions of the Ibizas were the same as the mk2 golf lump. Or is the golf lump a KR engine as well??

EDIT: one way of definitely telling is if you drive my car and compare it to yours. I'll be at Uni till Saturday doing nothing so just ring me or something

the question is, what next? i get paid tomorow and will have money burning a hole in my pocket couple of choices

Angel Eyes (£123 off fleabay) + HID bulbs (the ones Mig has) £75 inc postage
High Flow Sports De-Cat and stainless exhaust

any other ideas would be great

Depends how much money you'll have. As for the angel eyes, the chrome ones IMO look really chavvy, and the black ones could be interesting but are hard to get in RHD. I can DEFINITELLY recommend spending the £70 on the HIDs, you won't regret it.

If you want performance, then either go for some cams and get your self a straight through pipe and just put the Cat on for the MOT. problem is you'll only get higher top end performance in turn for a bit of a loss in the low down grunt.

I know it sounds a bit boring, but might be an idea to get your cambelt done if it hasn't been done before.

Also maybe a B&M short shift might be an idea.

Give it a bit of a stretch on the right handside so that its not over hanging over the headlight and it should look spot on. Its just that the angle you took the photos at make it look like it goes half way up the bonnet, lol.
